Cub Committee Meeting A reminder to all of you who get the paper on Wednesday evening, tonight is your committee meeting, all Cub Scout Leaders and Den-mothers and comrr)itteemen. Time 7:30. Place«- Community House. Candy Sellers I to a real shame that one of our neighboring subdivision youngsters had to come into our subdivision and say that he was selling candy for our Lakeland Park Little League. This was done at one home we know of and it probably means it was done at others. Even after questioning, thinking the lad was confused he stuck to his story of Lakeland Park Little League. The lad was told then by the man he was trying to sell to, that he was a manager in the League and not only didn't know the boy or that we were selling the product. The lai was told to stop telling people he was from here. Needless to say his story did not gain bim a sale. We can't understand how some youngsters will fell such an out and out lie to gain a few pennies. We would like to explain to our residents that at any time any of our clubs are trying to raise funds that it will be written in this column. At present- the Cub Scout Pack is selHrfg' address labels. You can check with the seller's Denmother if necessary. It does seem a real shame that this has becooae necessary to write but we want our people to know that Little League was only selling dance tickets. We've nothing against youngsters selling things but to claim they are from one of our clubs when it isn't so is entirely uncalled for. The T^d involved was of an age to know what he was saying. We Hope it won't happen again. * Tripoli TJflfe following ladies are members of the Tripoli club; Delhi Julian, Louise McEnery, Ruth McMahon, Edna Houn- FARM SERVICE WAY INSURED AUCTION IJOCATION -- At our used machinery lot on Railroad Street-- three-fourths mile West of Highway 23 -- across from Arnold Engineering -- in Marengo, 111. 5th Annual Sale of Used Farm Machinery Marengo Farmers Implement & Supply Co.
