Traditions of the past will be the theme of the party. Prizes for the best homemade ornament will be given, a dollar gift exchange wMl take place, games will be played, carols will be t>ung, and last year's addition lo the tradition will be related: a "cookie feast" from the favorite recipes of the members. Please bring a batch of your favorite cookies and don't forget to bring the recipe to share with the others. This is always a very gala parly so please attend and bring a friend. Remember to use your Advent Wreath on each of the four Sundays of Advent for this wreath symbolizes ihe "fulfillment of time" in the coming of Christ, and the glory of His birth. The January meeting of the Altar and Rosary will be on Jan. 9 instead of Jan. 2. The bridge-canasta tournament will continue next Sunday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. in the school hall. There are ten tables of bridge and three tables of canasta in the tournament and they will play until next May. on every other Sunday evening. At the last meeting Mr. and Mrs. Jay Cristy were the winners for the evening in the bridge group while Mary Booker and Peg Thorne were the canasta winners. Coffee and cake were served. , Klwanls Club News Nov. 25 Meeting In observance of Kiwanis Farirt City week this program was devoted to Farmers night with local farmers as our guests. Our program was furnished and put "n by Frank Urban, a retired farmer, who now lives in Woodstock. Our program was a showing of the Harvard Milk Day parade in color and sound filmed and recorded by Mr. Urban. Of great interest to our guests was the judging of cattle. On the business side, we have to select •* new secretary for 1964. Dick Miller, our secretary elect, has been transferred to Princeton. We had a farewell party for Dick. We will miss him. He has promised to come back for the installation Dec. 7. This will be Ladies night and open for guests. See Bob Myers for your reservations- Battle Ax Award was won by Wally Dean. Flo will get a letter. On Dec. 2 Dr. Nelson of the Woodstock Club gave a report on his experiences in the Philippines. On Dec. 9, Dr. Abu-Diab will be guest speaker. This will also be open for guests. Dr. Abu-Diab will put on his program at 8:30 p.m. On Dec. 16 there will be the steak and beans dinner. The losing team on the peanut brittle tales treats tlie winners to steak and eat beans themselves. Standings as of 11-25-63 show Mathews team 226 points and Gutzmacher team 194 points. Canasta Club Meeting The monthly meeting of the Memorial hospital canasta club met at the home of Mrs. Larry Fuhrer Thursday night, Nov. 2t. Those playing were Judy Rasmussen, June Kiddell, Mrs. Ed. Gallas, Sr., and Jr., Mrs. T. Kit oft, Mrs. D. Munson, Marie Milbrandt, Mildred Lundbori? and the three winners, Amy Street, Barbara LeGreca and IOIoise McCafferty. James Clark will lead the devotions, Chrysnnde Levesque will present the topic, Jack Clark will direct the recreation, and Bernice Bjork will have charge of the refreshments.
