COOKS CORNER By Marie Schaettgea What kind of potatoes do ou serve with your turkey? t yoou have a diet conscious iamily or one who must "take it easy on the gravy" you could still serve potatoes that are very tasty and easily prepared. If you want white potatoes try "au gratin." Make a medium white sauce with margarine and skim milk instead of the "high-priced" stuff. Add some grated American Cheese, pour over boiled sliced potatoes in greased casserole and bake in 350 degree oven for about 35 minutes. If you prefer sweet potatoes, boil sweets until done. Mash with a little milk and butter. On greased baking sheet place small mounds of the potatoes. Flatten each mound slightly and top with a large marshmallow and place under broiler for a minute or so until marshmallow melts and browns slightly. Watch constantly because it will scorch quickly. If broiler is lowered a little, less chance to burn. If you have an "assistant" this can be her or his responsibility. CARD OF THANKS Your kind expressions of sympathy are gratefully acknowledged and deeply appreciated by the family of the late Helen King. We realize, now, more than ever, just how much our friends mean to us. Thank you again.
