• TflE McHENHY PLAINDEALER Thursday, December 19, 1963 SpecfaeSaf Chrfstmas Pie % Whatever the dessert at holiday dinner, it must be of a spec* tacular nature--and one of the handsomest is Christmas Chocolate Pie. The chocolate chiffon goes into a crust of mellow corn flake crumbs. The pie derives its chocolate flavor from semisweet chocolate morsels, Ihe same candy-like pieces the children love for out-of-hand nibbling. And thanks to the presence of reliable unflavored gelatine, the filling requires little cookingonly the few minutes necossary to dissolve the unflavored gelatine and. melt the chocolate morsels. For the rest, £hxi«Uttas Chocolate Pie simply chills until ready for serving. COUNTY HOSPITAL ON SITE OF JUDGE MURPHY RESIDENCE Los Angeles has enough cars to move everybody living there, without anybody having to use the back seat and more than any of 43 entire states. Preliminary research indicates that the building which served as the first home of what now is Memorial hospital on South street, Woodstock, actually was the home of Judge Theodore Murphy, and not the Kellogg home. Frequent references in stories through the past several years have referred to the building occupied by tht Woodstock Public hospital in 1915 as the John Kellogg building. But since the Memorial hospital began its research to obtain data for the 50th anniversary planned next year, longtime residents have called attention to the mistaken identification. The hospital association has its annual meeting in January and Will have formal fiftieth anniversary services late in the year. The Woodstock hospital was organized under a charter dated Jan. 9, 1914, in a building that was located at the site where the American Legion now stands. Before it became a city hospital, it was a private hospital operated by physicians of Woodstock. Dr. Hyde West, secretary of the first board, was owner of the hospital when it was taken over by the hospital board. They agreed to lease it for two years and to manage it.
