Christmas day was spent at home with turkey and gifts. Carol and Bud Kennebeck had a different Christmas, to say the least. Daughter Karen blos somed with chicken^ pox on Christmas Eve and baby - Scotty took a tumble down the stairs. So Bud and Carol ate Christmas dinner alternately at Carol's mother's while the other stayed home with Karen. Here's to a less eventful Christmas in '64! ; Emma and Gunnar Johansen tell of the wonderful time they had in Arlington Heights at daughter Bertha Graczyk's home. Beginning Christmas Eve, they spent three days there. On Sunday they went to Skokie to visit their other daughter, Alice Sissman, and her family until the turn of the new year. Earl and Bernice Fry spent a leisurely Christmas day and had dinner out. But on Sunday they entertained a crowd of twenty-three for djnner which gave Bernice ample opportunity to give her Christmas present a good test run. What did Santa bring her? Mr. and Mrs. Henry Steinbrecher and aunt and uncle, Dora and Etfdie Firnstein, on Christmas day. But to keep this nervous waiting period occupied, Joan and Stan exchanged gifts with Millie and George Kropf on Christmas Eve, had dinner at Loretta and Bob Michelsen's on Christmas day, and of course visited Joan's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Holtfodt, after* dinner. Stan's family catne out Sunday for belated festivities. Jim and Fran Fuqua spent Christinas day with Jim's parents in Lisle, where twenty family members shared the feast and fun. Dec. 27 was spent in Chicago (at daughter Debbie's godparents' home. The Legs^TTrfrfe family had their big day at Kathryn's parents' home in Chicago. Wee ones add something special to gfcft-opening time, and especially when the wee one is the first grandchild. Steve and Lorraine Major had just such a delight this year. And of course turkey and all thfe trimmings of the day of days.1 Tom and Delores Hanahan had their parents out for a complete ; family style Christmas. Family Reunion The Palmer home was the scene of a family reunion on Dec. 28. From Evanston came Marge's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Gionnini, Marge's brother and great-aunt, Joseph Gionnini and Mrs. Mary Rosinsky. From Wheeling came Marge's sister, Mrs. E. Eaton, Jr., and her family whose eldest son was home on leave from the navy. From Gurnee, Marge's sister, Mrs. H. Hoyle, and her family! From Chicago, cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sawatzki. and their children. From next door and across the street the Stephens and the Hoettels came to join the celebration. Surprise guests from Detroit were Bill and Bernadine. Grist who dropped in . with their nieces and nephews to wish their ex-neighbors a Cool Yule. It was one of the most meiTH orable . days of the Palmers' holiday season. The young people enjoyed the ice skating to their hearts content. The delight and warmth of the day was marred only by the absence of Harold's parents, the John Palmers of Evanston. Bears Boosters Dec. 29 found a good number of Sunnyside families hosting friends and relatives outside the Channel 4 area for the big football game. The Howard Hoettels welcomed their daughter, Mrs. George Ballard, and her family from Western Springs. Gate 6 will remain the same, but the busses will then enter Gate 5 and proceed east on Parkview. Youngsters will board the bus at the intersection of Eastwood Drive and Parkview. Children will not be picked up on the blacktop. At Gate 2, the busses will also load at the intersection of Clover Hill Drive and Parkview.
