Jan. 6 boninninj* at 8 p.m. at 1218 W. Oukleuf avenue. Holiday Notes Saint Nick paid his annual visit here on Christinas Eve. The Deppmeier twins were fortunate enough to have Santa appear in person the ni^ht before Christmas. Also dropping in on the Deppmeiers Christmas eve were' Hob, Rea and Kenny Froehii^ and the George Meekos. Christmas dinner guests at their home included Wayne Walters and Kola and Williard Ilillmnn. Birdie's brother, Ron, called his greetings from South Carolina to make Ihc day complete. Karen and Janjce Bush made it home for Ihe holidays. Karen from Illinois State Normal, Bloomington, and Janice lrom the Universily o!' Illinois. Santa's present to Janice included a trip to the 1904 Hose bowl garirte so he? stay at home was short. Arriving from Yuma, Ariz., on Saturday to spend these holidays wiih the Erickson family was Jean's parenls, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Shipp. The Ericksons and Shipps, spent Christmas eve at the Chuck Jensen home in Mt. Prospect.. The Eric E rick sons joined the Shipi >s at Roy and Anna Jean's for Christmas dinner.. With William Kern on a two week vacation beginning Dec. 14 Marie and Bill took a short trip out east to visit their sons, Don and family in Philadelphia and Francis and family in Cleveland,, to celebrate Christmas early. On Christmas day they visited with another son.^Rir^iard.'and family in Wheat on.-./ / Christm.is dinner al the Marvin Phillips home included Harriet's brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Robertson, Elmhurst, and the Art Rohars, River Terrace,' along with Mrs. Robertson's mother, Mrs. Deckard of Louisville, Ky. Agnes and Howard Secord entertained the Charles Secords, Mr. and Mrs. Don Second and Lisa, Kenosha, the Kenneth Fox family, Howard's mother, Mrs. Secord, Milwaukee, and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Stark, N. Y., who are in Milwaukee on leave before Tom leaves for., Viet Nam. In the evening Marsha and Val Patula of Fox Lake dropped in for a brief visit. Mrs. Secord stayed over to spend a couple of weeks with Howard and Agnes. Harry, Grace and the three Gavin children spent the day before Christmas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Perkowski, Chicago. On Christmas day thoy dined with the Harry Gavins, \Sr., also in Chicago. Visiting at the Jvurowski home onr Christmas- eve were his bry»ther and family, the Edwin / Kurowskis, Lake Geneva, Wis* On Christmas day the entire Kurowski family dined with Clara's sister ahd family, Mr. and Mb>. J. Hayes, Chicago. These holidays found the Tom Merhaut family knee.deep in celebration beginning with the weekend. On Saturday Marcia al tended the American Legion Christmas party of her grandpa Merhaut and on Sunday the family went to a Christmas party sponsored by I om's company. Jerry and family spent Saturday with Gene and Carol Connerty and family in Lombard with the rest of the Connerty relatives. On Christmas day Arlene entertained Mr. and Mrs. Al Novy, Cicero, and"" Mrs. Meyers, Cicero. Christmas eve supper guests nt the Cal Vyduna home were Glenn Oaks and sons, Wheeling, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Vyduna and Randy, Elmhurst, and George Vyduna, Oak Park. Arriving on Christmas day for dinner from Metamora, III., were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jans- >en of Barnesville, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. C. J. .Janssen, Elaine and Paul. Joining them (or Christmas dinner were La- Verne and Glenn Oaks and sons, Wheeling, George Vyduna, Oak Park, and the John O. Robert and Marion Rabb spent Christmas with her sister and husband, Mr. and' Mrs. Stan Witek, Chicago. On Christmas day they joined their son and family at" his in-laws, the Rudy Schueks, Elmwood Park. Holiday houseguests at the Rabb home were Virginia and Ted Mastell of Los Angeles, Calif., Marian's - brother. Stopping at the Russell Parker home on Christmas eve w^re Jim Moore, Jerry and d'u'lene Connerty, Joan and Don Hawkins, and Virginia and Ewald Pradelski. On Christmas day the Parker family dined with Dorothy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schwebke, Chicago. Bob, Cindy and Lindaf Kettner spent Christmas eve with his sister and family, the Carl Lambs, Oak Lawn. The Zamastil family enjoyed their Christmas eve with Don's family at the Wheaton home of his parents, the Edward Zamastils. On Christmas day Barb and Don entertained Mr. and IVJrs. William Zimmerman, the Fred Casper family, Addison, Laura Gust, and Emily Roberts, Chicago, with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zimmerman and twins dropping in later in the afternoon. Joining Jerry, Bob and Mary Dicks for Christmas dinner in the Terrace were Bob's brother and family, the Ray Dicks of Libertyville. Nelson, Salem', Wis. On Christmas •day, the Toeppers were joined for dinner by Len's parent's, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Toepper, Trevor, Wis., his grandmother, Mrs. Lillian Toepper, Antioch, and his brother and wife, Ronald and Chris Toepper, Grayslake. Hospital' News The day after Christmas Mike Mecko entered Memorial hospital, Woodstock, to take care of an arm injury he suffered during football season. We hope that all goes well and Mike is home by the New Year. He is Leonard H. Heise, the executive director of the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness. He will talk to lus about preventing blindness and cornea transplants. A movie entitled "Boy with a Blindfold" will be shown. The film is introduced by Lee Phillip and narrated by Walter Pidgeon. Most of us are fortunate enough to live in a world where we can see, the beauty around us, but what if you lived in a wtfrld of darkness?
