SPECIAL MOVIE SHOWING A large number of priests and nuns from the Northeastern part of Illinois attended the movie, "Lilies of the Field," at the McHenry theatr elast Saturday morning. The film, acclaimed throughout the nation in recent months, was sponsored by the Christian Mothers of St. Mary's Catholic church. St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg, was the setting for a lovely winter wedding last Saturday, Jan. 25, when Miss Bernice Jean Warfel of Lake Geneva. Wis., exchanged nuptial vows with Mr. Albert G. Freund of Johnsburg. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Warfel and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin J. Freund. Rev. A. H. Weideman officiated at the 11 o'clock service, for which the children's choir offered the music. The main altar was decorated with bouquets of white gladioli, and the bride placed her bouquet on the altar of the Blessed Mother while the choir sang "On This Day O Beautiful Mother." Given in marriage by her father, the bride approached the altar, lovely in a silk organza over taffeta, chapel length gown. It was stylecLwith demure neckline adornecr with chantilly lace, iridescent sequins and pearls, fitted bodice, and long, pointed sleeves. Chantilly lace graced her full skirt. The bride wore a tulip crown featuring iridescent sequins and pearls, from which fell a two-tiered, silk illusion bouffant veil. Miss Warfel was attended by Theresa Freund, sister of the groom, as maid of honor and Trudy Johnson, close friend of the bride, of Lake Geneva, Wis., as bridesmaid. They were attired identically in grotto blue taffeta peau dresses, styled with fitted bodices, bracelet length sleeves, semi-bell skirts and detachable chapel length, bouffant skirts. Completing their costume was a matching cabbage rose crown and maline bouffant veil. They wore pearl necklaces and earrings, gifts of the bride, and carried cascade bouquets of tinted carnations to match their dresses. Lester Warfel of' Lake Geneva, brother of the bride, served as best man and Henny Schaefer of Johnsburg, cousin of the groom, was groomsman. Ushers were Albert May and Harvey May, friends of the groom. Mrs. Warfel was attired in a beige dress with matching accessories and a corsage of white carnations. Mrs. Freund wore a sapphire blue dress, matching accessories and a similar corsage. A wedding breakfast was served at the Richmond Legion ' home at 12:30 to fifty guests. After 5:30 that evening, between 350 and 400 guests gathered there for an evening reception. Pat Schmitt, cousin of the groom, was in charge of the guest book. The newlyweds will make their home in Lake Geneva, Wis. The bride is a 1963 graduate of Badger high school in Lake Geneva and is employed at Gold Crest Laundry and Dry Cleaners, Lake Geneva. The groom graduated in 1960 from Richmond Burton high school and is an employee of the Midland Feed Co., Genoa City. Mike and Mary Freund , *1-30-64 Use The Classfied Ann Peschke Wed Saturday One of the first weddings of the new year in McHenry was solemnized last Saturday morning, Jan. 25. in St. Patrick's Catholic church, when Miss Ann Lee Peschke became the bride of Mr. John "Hogan. Miss Peschke is the daughter of Mf\ and Mrs. Bernard J. Peschke. Sr., of 1211 W. Rt. 120, McHenry. and Mr. Hogan is son of Mr. and Mrs. Jolfti Hogan of 6606 Barnard Mill road, Ringwood. Rev. Eugene Parker officiated at the 11 o'clock nuptial Mass, for which Barbara Kuenn of Rosary college sang. She also offered selections at the reception. Pretty, dark-haired Miss Peschke chose a dress of silk peau-de-soie, embroidered with crystal and pearls, tracing a graceful vine, and flowers on the bodice and the controlled sheath skirt. The detachable train was fastened at the waist with bows and roses made of silk peau-de-soie, made of a lace motif which later formed a butterfly effect whert draped for the evening reception. Attendants were Sue Weyler of Louisiana, who acted as maid of honor: Bev Brazis of Chicago, Pat Hogan of Ringwood, Nancy Weber of 3711 N. Fairview and Sandy Nellis of 3101 Lake, McHenry. Little Sherry Sonnemaker of Detroit, Mich., was the pretty flower girl. She was attired in a dress similar to the bridesmaids and a cabbage rose hat. The adult attendants chose beauty red satin, " floor length dresses, fashioned with empire waistlines, portrait necklines and tea-cup sleeves. Large selfbows and cabbage roses trimmed the full, pleated back skirts. Their hats were beauty red cabbage roses. The bridesmaids carried white muffs with long stemmed roses placed diagonally on them. Gerald Hogan served his brother as best man and groomsmen were Harry Hogan of Ringwood, another brother, Gerald, and Bernard Peschke, Jr., of McHenry, brothers of the bride, and Leonard Block of Chicago. Ushers were Alan Peschke of McHenry and Mike Hogan of Ringwood. The stately ring bearer was Kirk Krieger of McHenry. Mrs. Peschke wore for the Mass and afternoon reception a red sheath dress with matching accessories. Her evening dress was cocoa brown sheath with a champagne-colored jacket and cocoa brown accessories. Mrs. Hogan was attired in a three-piece royal blue with matching accessories. The wedding breakfast was served to thirty-five guests at Martinetti's at 1 o'clock, with open house following at the bride's home. A reception for 400 was enjoyed at Martinetti's after 6 o'clock, and the couple left later on a twoweeks' trip to Florida. The couple will make their home in Hillside. The bride, a graduate in 1960 of McHenry high school, is a senior at Rosary college, River Forest. The groom graduated in 1957 from the local high school.
