Pls»ys Close to Home All the many friends and relatives of Chuck Hiller were real happy to see him last week while he was in Chicapo I with the San Francisco Giants. I There were quite a few from this vicinity who went into Wrigley Field to witness the games in person while the rest had to be content to watch it on T.V. Everyone was a little disappointed when the Giants dropped two ot the three games to the Cubs. But I must confess, mine were mixed-up feelings. Sorry for Chuck and his teammates but most happy for the Cubs who have a special place in my heart as a Cub router from way back tyhen. All this dates back quit? a few years ago when our family spent many an afternoon in Wrigley Field as we were all born ^ind raised in the city. So to Chuck and the Giants, we say, "better luck next time" (maybe!) Girl Scouts On the Go You should have seen the hustle and bustle that went on In Connie Thomas' yard last Monday morning. This was the planned meeting place for Girl Scouts of troops 150, 295 and 408 which were to participate in the three day outing. Sleeping bags, bed rolls, clothes bags of ail descriptions plus whatever a young girl needs when she leaves home for a couple of days. The three troops who will be well chaperoned by their leaders and some of the mothers will spend three days and two nights at Chapman Hills, Wis. They will spend this time really roughing it in the great outdoors. Don't you wonder what tales of experiences they will come home with? Rescue Squad and Fire Calls f"' Members ot station 2 were called out last Thursday to extinguish a grass fire in Pistakce Highlands. Our own rescue'squad-members were really kept on the go the latter pail of last week when several calls came in which needed their first aid assistance. Thursday evening a call came in which took them to Sunnyside where a resident's mother suffered an apparent heart siezure. An ambulance was summoned.
