HOLIDAY HILLS NEWS AUXILIARY BAKE SALE JUNE 20 AT MARY MECKO HOME The Pistakee Terrace Women's Auxiliary will hold a bake sale this Saturday. June 20, beginning at 9 a.m. until all goods are 'Sold. The sale will again be held at the bom? of Mary Mecko on 1301 W. Circle Drive, All kinds of home baked goods will be available as usual along with various boxes of all occasion cards. It was announced at the auxiliary June meeting on Wednesday. June 10, at the Parker home that Sept. 19 has been reserved for the annual Terrace dance. The girls will hold the dance at the McHenry American Legion. More detail^ later in the summer. Also - decided at the June meeting 'the Terrace auxiliary witi- again hold their meetings on Thursday evenings. The July I 8 meeting will be at the Jerry Dicks home. Otto Kerner has approved two watershed projects, the McHenry and Hawthorne Watershed in White county and the Ramsey Creek Watershed located in Fayette. Montgomery, Shelby and Christian counties. Inhabitants of the area propose to organize two drainage dist ricts, onefor Hawthorne ditch and one for McHenry slough, to raise the necessary contributions. Flooding occurs an average of three times annually, with most serious damage being done in spring months in the two areas. Plans for both the McHenry and Hawthorne Watershed and the Ramsey Creek Watershed must be approved in Washington by the U. S. Department of Agriculture. Upon receipt of federal approval, the Soil Conservation Service .will have plans drawn and submitted for consideration of the local soil conservation districts.
