(Helen) Haynes were delegates to the fourth annual two-day convention and 80th annual meeting and United Thank Offering Ingathering of the Episcopal Churchwomen, diocese of Chicago, June 10 and 11 at North Central college, Naperville. Principal speakers were the Rt. Rev. Gerald Francis Burrill, bishop of the Chicago docese, the Rt. Rev. Chilton Powell, bishop of the Oklahoma diocese, and Emma Lou Benignus, former assocate director of the department of the laity at the World Council of Churches, headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Miss Benignus now is a faculty member at the nondenominational Instutute for Advance Pastoral Studies in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. The Rev. James S. Jones, founder of St. Leonard's House in Chicago, the first of some thirty-three such "Half Way" houses now in the United States, gave the keynote address at the banquet, held at the Spinning Wheel, Hinsdale. ir.
