All members are cordially invited to participate in this summer gathering. Death Clalmtf Two Residents Our community was in deep sadness this past week as a result of the deaths of two of our- long time residents. Joseph M. Schaefer of Church street passed away at the ^Woodstock hospital on June "29 at the wonderful age of 90. JMost of this long life was spent right here in our vicinity. His home was right next to St. John's church where he enjoyed visiting frequently. He is survived by a son and three daughters. Mr. Schaefer will be missed by all who knew him. We were all shocked to learn of the untimely death of James Daily. Funeral services were conducted in Chicago last week. Jim, his wife, Rita, and their family have made their home on the Johnsburg road for many years. We extend our deepest sympathies to Rita and her children upon their recent loss. Vows Exchanged June 27, St. John's church Was the scene of the wedding ceremony which united Mrs. Clara Szarek and Edward Ranker. The new Mr. and Mrs. Ranker were attended by her daughter and son-in-law, Richard and Marcella Marsh. Immediately following the ceremony breakfast was served in their home on Goodview avenue on Pistakee Bay. At 5 o'clock that evening, the newly married couple were feted at a reception dinner held in Chicago. Among the close friends and relatives who attended the dinner were Clara's father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Mrozinski. Also in attendance were four young people who are very close to Clara's heart, her grandchildren. Because of thar heat, the Marsh baby was left at home. Mrs. Margaret Mc- Cauley, the groom's sister, was on hand for the wedding and breakfast out here also. On July 6, Mr. and Mrs. Ranker left for a three week trip out west. May we all join in wishing them all the happiness in the future life together as man and wife. Hospital Patients Mrs. Dolores Meyer spent several days in the McHenry hospital last week. We were so sorry to hear that she and Bob lost the baby they were expecting in September. We hope they are consoled with the fact that the Good Lord moves in mysterious ways. Following a long rest Dolores should be feeling fine. At this writing Joe Hettermann is still a patient in the McHenry hospital where he was taken in the early hours of Saturday morning. He is still undergoing tests to determine his trouble. Texas Trip Marilyn Smith left last week for Texas where she participated in the wedding party of her close friend, Pam Monroe. Miss Monroe became Mrs. Vycital on July 4. Marilyn returned by plane on Sunday. Var-ation Fun The Pete Peterson family spent several days sightseeing through Michigan and up into Canada. They returned home on Friday evening. The Fourth of July found the Willie Klapperich family in Iowa visiting all of his kinfolk. They returned home early Ds Be AIR COMMONER Prices Start at $139.95 Carey Appliance, Inc. 1241 N. Green St. McHenry PHONE 885-5500 this week after being gone a week. Rescue Squad Calls At 3:50 a.m. on July 2, the members of the rescue squad were summoned to Pistakee Highlands Where they took a resident to the McHenry hospital for medical attention. The Highlands was the scene of another call on the 3rd. A young girl was struck by a car and was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. Late Sunday evening the squad answered a call on River Terrace Drive when a resident suffered a fatal possible heart attack. The running count has now increased to 2,374. In the near future the squad members will be around selling their tickets to the annual dance held each year in the community club hall. Please keep all these calls they answer throughout the years in mind when you are approached to purchase a ticket. You may be lucky and never need their assistance and then again -- there may come a time when you will. We all want them to be equipped to handle any emergency. Your ticket purchases enables them to maintain their equipment at the highest level possible. Support your own Johnsburg Rescue Squad by attending their annual dance coming up in the near future. Henry. They also spent some time with relatives here. . The George Hiller home was really "Rocking" over last weekend. Olivia's sister and family, the Al. Garretts of Carrollton, Ky., were their guests. Also visiting in their home were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Miller, the Elmer Freund family, Barbara Freund of West Chicago, and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Freund. Church Ceremonies June 27 was the date chosen for two young couples to be wed in St. John's Church. At 10 o'clock Miss Wanda Tonyan of Ringwood became the bride of Wesley Bruce. Upon returning from their honeymoon, they will reside in McHenry. Lieut. John Regner claimed Audrey Tonyan as his bride in a beautiful service performed at 11:30 that morning. They are now in Kentucky where he is stationed with the army. Early next year the newlyweds will go to Germany following his schooling in Georgia. Best wishes for a most happy future are extended to these two couples. New Mexico Bound is now stationed with Uncle Sam's army in New Mexico. Harry recently spent two weeks with his family, the Ed Hettermanns, after completing his basic training in Missouri. Being in New Mexico has its advantages. Harry's uncle and family, the Bill Herdrichs, live about a fifteen minute drive from the camp. So I imagine most of Harry's spare time will be spent visiting with the Herdrichs. Holiday Weekend Visitors Don and Betty Lou Dowe and daughters of Lincoln spent the long holiday weekend visiting with his family in Mc- Brlde Of The Future When Janice May accepted a ring from Thomas Drafkorn of Woodstock, she promised to become his wife. The wedding is being planned for September. The engagement was recently announced by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Nischan of Johnsburg road. We are real happy for the young couple. We hope all their plans which are now in the making soon become a reality. Another week has drawn to a close as far as this column is concerned. Remember once again my deadline is each Monday at noon. Give me a ring if you have any news at all. See you here next week.
