On July 5, two of our residents stoCSdtimbed. Although Mrs. Emma Hergott of Johnsburg road had been ill for several months, lielr death still came as a blowto all who knew her. Mrs. Hergott, who was 84 at the time of death, is survived by her husband, Arthur, three sotis and four daughters. Mrs. Clarence (Lucille) Michels is one of the daughters. The Hergotts had observed their fiftyseventh wedding last month. ' ^The passing of. Peter Rad of River Terrace road was very .sudden. Mr. Rad would have been 53 earlier this week. He is survived by his wife, Jean. One of the worst shocks in quite a long time hit us all last week when we learned of the untimely death of William J. Schmitt of Kansas City, Mo. Bill was born and raised here. During his short 36 years, he accumulated a large amount of friends. He had been making his hdirie with his wife, "Dolly" in Kansas City for the past two years wheTe he was employed. Bill was among the "starters" in the Johnsburg Rescue Squad. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose. Besides his wife, his father, John N., and a sister, Mrs. Dolores Overton, also "survive. Once again I must admit words at a time like this are quite useless. We wish to extend our sympathies to all the surviving members of these three families. on Hillcrest Place. Time goes zooming right along. As a loyal, longtime Chicago Cub fan I'm sorry the Giants had to do what they did. Each and everyone of us wish Chuck continued good fortune in his major league career. I'll be rooting for the team when they play all the other teams in the league (with the exception" of the Cubs, of coui'se). Birthday Coming: Up Thursday, July 16, marks the ??
