AUG. 29 Saturday, Aug. 29, the election of officers will be held at the community center, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Absentee ballots may be obtained Friday, Aug. 28, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the community center. Absentee voters will cast their vote Aug. 28 and will seal the envelope, and all ballots will be kept under lock until all the votes are counted. Remember your votes will put the ones in office who will be taking the responsibilities of your ocmmunity and unless we all support the association our community will not prosper and the best way to support it is to get out and vote and after the new slate of officers take over, support them. P.T.A. Notes* Johnsburg School The executive board held a meeting at the home of vice president, Roy Dube, Aug. 11. The purpose of the meeting was to plan the program for the conning school year. The Johnsburg P.T.A. will sell school supplies,. Sept. 8-9- 10 and 11, from 8 to 9 a.m., during lunch hours and after school until 4 p.m. for the convenience of the students. Mount Hope Methodist Church Notes Sunday, Aug. 16, Dolores Gregg was organist, James Dyson the lay reader, Neil Barth, candle lighter and greeters were Mr. and Mrs. John Larson. Special music for the services were presented by Jeannie Jo and Sue Benoche. Rev. Bruce Breneman of the Ringwood Methodist-church delivered the sermon entitled "Fa'ce to Face With pod". The Sunday school teachers attended the curriculum workshop 'from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Harvard Methodist church. The final session will be held at the Palatine Methodist church, Aug. 30. At 5 p.m. the joint Methodist youth group met at the Ringwood M et h o d i s t churcfi. The youths brought a sack lunch, soft drlhks were furnished. Dr. Paul Stafford of the Rogers Park Methodist church in Chicago was the guest speaker for the evening. Phil and Glenda Wieck were the chaperonos from the Mount Hope church. Monday, Aug. IT. the commission on education hold its meeting and at S p.m. the official board mooting was hold at tho church. Since there wore ninny important matters to discuss all trustees and stewards wore urged to attend. Two Senior Citizens Hospitalized We wore sorry to hoar that Mr. Pauls of 402 P,roadway is in McHenry hospital recovering from a stroke, and Peter Cunningham is in St. Theresc hospital for tioatment ho had been ill for two weeks before entering the hospital. I am sure both men would appreciate cards. Peter's room number is 226. I am happy to report that Mr. Pauls is doing fine and is feeling much better. After Peter is dismissed from the hospital- he will be convalescing in a nursing home. Birthdays and Anniversaries Birthday greetings go to Danny Sabiclny who celebrated his fifth birthday Aug. 25, to Dale Hillstrom who celebrates his eleventh birthday, Sept. 1, to Stephanie Contra who celebrates her day Aug. 29, to Mary Seldon, Aug. 29, to Mark "Skinny" VanZevern who celebrates his eleventh birthday Sept. 4. We wish you all a very wonderful day and many more to come in health and happiness. Congratulations to Dick and Mary Lou Sabielny who will be celebrating their eleventh wedding anniversary, Aug. 29. News Of Your Friends And Neighbors Bob and Lorraine Hurckes and sons returned home today after spending their two weeks vacation in Wolf River, Wis., whore they rented a cottage. They took their beautiful boat with them and enjoyed boating, fishing, swimming and meeting many new folks. Ray and Dol- I ly Novotny and sons spent a i few days there too. Betty and Tommy Warczak returned home after enjoying a fi\'e and a half [ weeks vacation in California at tho home of Betty's parents. Thoy enjoyed visiting and sightseeing. Dick and Mary Lou,Sabiellny and their four sons returned home from a wonderful throe weeks vacation which took them through Wisconsin, Minnesota. South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana, on a camping trip. They spent six days camping at the Yellowstone National Park, camping at the Grand Teton mountains, Windeave, Nalional Park, in South Dakota and Cody, Wyo. The highlights of the trip were the black bears, the grizzley bears, moose, elk, muledeer, antelope. prairie dogs and herds of buffalo. They attended a big Rodeo, visited the Buffalo Bill museum in Cody, Wyo. On the way back they stopped in Tomahawk, Wis., and spent a couple of days with Mary Lou's parents. It was a trip they will long remember. Best wishes to Ronnie Sluga and Pinky Fellows who are taking their basic training in the Army at Fort Knox, Ky. The two boys enlisted together and will keep each other company in their basic training period which can be rough. My hubby Wally had a wonderful birthday, Aug. 15. In the afternoon we enjoyed boating with Haze Morley and her four sons and Guy Erbin. Later in the afternoon, Marine Pfc. Joseph Tomaeno and Joe, Sr., from Cicero, arrived to spend the afternoon with us. We all enjoyed a turkey dinner, Wally's favorite. We were very happy to see the Tomaenos, especially since we will not be seeing "Little Joe" for three years. He will be leaving Sept. 7, for a three year tour of duty in Okinawa, via Hong Kong, where "Little J<x'" will do some shopping and he will be sending me some Chinese items, since I am a great lover of them. I have some beautiful pieces. Later in the evening Haze and Dick Morley came over and after tho Tomaenos left we enjoyed playing scrabble. All in all it was a very nice birthday for Wally. Leo Orlowski stopped in for a brief birthday greeting for Wally. He received nice gifts S and many cards. j Wally and Marie Perschke I spent a few days in Whitehall, Mich., while there thoy helped Marie's brother celebrate his! birthday. Saturday, Aug. 22, Forrest and Grace Rejnhardt attended tho wedding of their niece at a *11 a.m. Nuptial Mass in Cicero. Their daughter, Gloria Mack, was one of the attendqnts at the wedding. Gert and Roy Snell, we dub them the travelers, returned to the Highlands, Aug. 20, after spending two Weeks in Chicago visiting their son. Roy's relatives and Gert's sisters. While there they enjoyed their favorite pastime, playing cards and visiting. Nice to have you both back looking so well, we hope you stay with us for a spell. Bob and Marilyn VanZevern and their two sons attended a picnic at Druce Lake, Aug. 23, Bob enjoyed being with many of his former co-workers. After the picnic they drove to Chicago to visit relatives and friends. Aug. 20, Audrey Morin and kiddies spent the day with her sister-in-law, Charlotte Anderson, in Prospect Heights. They enjoyed a luncheon and some shopping. Aug. 2.3, Ron and Pat Jackson and kiddies spent the day at Ron's parents in Wauconda, for a big family birthday celebration, honoring three members of the Jackson family. Ray Cunningham is very upset over children throwing stones, and the latest stone throwing episode ended up in his stormdoor glass being broken. The children from Meadow Lane had spent a good half h o u r t h r o w i n g t h e m . T h a t seems to be the general thing of late in this neighborhood, we are lucky to have anything left. Dick Farewell has returned to work after enjoying a two weeks vacation, which they spent in LaGrange with Rose's sister and family and in Cicero with Dick's parents. The rest of the time they spent at home puttering around and boating. This has been a very busy and lonesome week for me after having the three Hillstrom kiddies all of last week. It was a real fun filled week and I really loved having them but this week something seemed to be really missing. Joe and Mabel Gregg are enjoying a visit with their long time friend. Doctor Gertrude (Iroski, professor at the Mount Pleasant Teacher's College, in Mount Pleasant, Mich. The folks have been taking side trips in the area and enjoying tho nice'crisp days. Ellie Wroblewski is so happy her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Benatti, and son, Vincent, Jr., are renting a home in Whispering Hills awaiting their home to be completed in that community. They are having a fabulous home built and it will be a showplaee for our area anil a most welcome addition, Norbie Lewandowski enjoyed a two weeks vacation. He and I?ov enjoyed a few trips close by. Aug. 19 they took the four oldest children to Chicago for dinner and a movie and August 24. they took all the children to Milwaukee where they joined Norbie's twin brother and family for an outing at the Milwaukee Zoo and a tour of a brewery. Millie Shastal and her four kiddies spent a week in Ohio visiting relatives and frends. It was good for Millie to get away from it all for awhile and to got a change of scene. Jim and Jane Malek and their daughters spent a week camping in Canada and enjoyed all the wonders of Canada's wilds and parks. Teena O'Malley and children returned home after spending two weeks in Iowa visiting her mother and family. It was the first time they had seen the baby girl and they all loved her very much. Aug. 19 was a day Leo and Lil Orlowski will long remember. Those who attended the 10 a.m. Mass were Delores Flynn, their niece, Shirley Flynn, their grandniece, and Nettie Gale, Lil's sister, all of Trevor, Wis., Mayme Kitrusch, Leo's sister, and Shirley . Kitrusch, their niece, both of Nekoosa, Wis,, Mayme was the flower girl for their wedding, Agnes Pingel, Leo's sister from Chicago. Shirley Fantuzzi their niece from Morton Grove, Agnes Ossowski, one of the bridesmaids for their wedding, Anna Marach, and Catherine M. Owens all of Chicago, Richie Orlowski and Kay Sieliseh.' After the Mass every one gathered at the Orlowski home, where Leo, Lil and their son, Richie, greeted everyone. They al enjoyed a delicious dinner with Rev. Fr. John M. Dording and the Rev. Fr. A. H. Weideman as guests of honor. Diana Murgatroyd, Louise Jacobson and Kay Sielisch prepared the dinner and served it, a task they al! uid with much love for Leo and Lil. They received many card and the highlights of the cards were the ones from Governor Otto Kerner and President Lyndon B. Johnson. The Orlowskis looked forward to the open house which was held Aug. 22. We All wish them many more years in love, health and happiness and we are so happy their day was so' nice. Leo's sister and niece the Kitrusches, spent two days with them before leaving for home.
