Miller at a nuptial Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Eugene Baumhofer at St. Mary's Catholic church, Saturday, Aug. 22, at 11:30 a.m. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Olivia K. Bauer of S13 N. Center street and the late Edward V. Bauer. The groom is< the son of the Charles (Chuck) Millers of 3709 W. Clover avenue. For the lovely service the church altars were decorated with bouquets of white gladioli. Music was furnished by the children's choir. The radiant bride wore a full length dress of white nylon over taffeta with oval neckline, long tapered sleeves, princess line front highlighted with seed pearls and appliques and back sweeping train, which was placed in a bustle fqr the reception. A bouffant veil fell from a double crown of seed pearls and aurora borealis. She carried a prayer book with a cascade bouquet of orchids and stephanotis, which was used by her grandmother, the late Mrs. Joseph Kattner, at her wedding sixty-eight years ago on Aug. 20. Attending the bride as matron of honor was Mrs. Richard Williams of McHenry, a friend, and her bridesmaid were Miss Nancy Whiting of McHenry and Miss Anne Sullivan of Wonder Lake, both friends, and Mrs. Michael Stompanato of Woodstock, sister of the groom. Janet Bauer of Ringwood was the flower girl and Karen Smith of McHenry was junior bridesmaid. They are both godchildren and- nieces of the bride. The matron of honor and bridesmaids were gowned in floor length aqua sheaths of silk chiffon over taffeta, with jackets with oval necklines and full length sleeves with satin cuff trim, and satin bands around bottom of jackets with bows in back detail. Their headpieces were plain satin circular bands, dyed to match their shoes. They carried white and aqua tinted gladioli in crescent shape bouquets. The flower girl and junior bridesmaid wore short white nylon organza dresses trimmed with appliques in the aqua color, with large bow sashes in back. Their headpieces were the same as the older attendants. The flower girlvcarried a basket of aqua and white tinted gladioli. David Miller acbed as best man for his brother and the groomsmen were (Allen Miller, a brother, Marvin Bauer, brother of the bride, land Terrance Harth, cousin op the groom. Brian Miller, a brother, was the junior groomsman and Peter Lieser, the groom's cousin, was the ringbearer. The ushers were Roland Bauer of Ringwood, the bride's brother, and Jerome M. Miller, uncle of the groom. For the evening reception Mrs. Bauer wore a white brocaded satin dress with pink accessories complemented by a cymbidium orchid corsage. Mrs. Miller was attired in a champagne beige lace and chiffon sheath with which she wore matching accessories and similar corsage. At 1 o'clock a wedding breakfast was served to fifty guests at the home of the groom's parents. An evening reception was held at the Johnsburg community club for 700 guests. The young couple will reside on Main street, McHenry, following a plane trip to Florida. Both the bride and groom are graduates of McHenry high school and the groom attended college in Clarksville, Tenn., Northern Illinois university and Chicago Technical college. All were attired in floor length sheath gowns of lilac-colored taffeta, with matching lace bolero jackets. They wore matching rose headpieces with tulle. KINDERGARTEN AT NEARBY SCHOOL HAS LATE START Despite the fact that the building addition will not be ready for occupancy on the opening day of school, Big Hollow grade school students will be expected to attend a ninetyminute session on Sept. 1. The only exception will be the kindergarten students who are not to report until Sept. 2. Supt. Edmond Taveirne requests that parents of kindergarten children contact the school immediately if they have not been notified whether their child is assigned to the morning or afternoon session. The faculty will begin a day earler than the students.with a meeting on the afternoon of Sept. 1. Bus routes will be the same as last year, however with the additional kindergarten children, it is expected that changes will be necessary. The registration fee will continue at $3.50 and no books will be issued until fee is paid. This fee should be sent on Sept. 2, the first full day of school. Any transfer pupils who have not done so, are requested to contact the school immediately. Mr. Taveirne states that the faculty is now complete with several additions. Anne Shea of Wadsworth will teach second grade. She. is a graduate of Barat college. Louise Eltherington of Ingleside will teach kindergarten. Mrs. Eltherington formerly taught kindergarten at Grayslake. Mrs. Lorette Rogers has returned to the faculty and will teach fourth grade. The school completed last year with an enrollment of 317 pupils and anticipates an enrollment of 370, most of which is a result of the addition of the kindergarten. Seventh and eighth grades will evidence some departmentalization, with specialized teachers in various fields. This will benefit the student educationally and will improve especially the areas of math and physical education. The board has adopted a modern math text series which will better prepare the students to meet the high school curriculum requirements. The school addition is expected to be ready for occupancy on Oct. 1 and in the meantime, emergency areas will be required tq house the students. Miller, fireman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thane Miller of 8710 Ramble road, Wonder Lake, recently returned to Quonset Point, R. I. aboard the anti-submarine warfare aircraft carrier USS Essex after completing a midshipman training cruise in the North Atlantic. Midshipmen aboard Essex received practical training in seamanship, gunnery, anti-submarine. warfare, navigation and shipboard routine in preparing for duties as a naval officer. He had an opportunity to visit ports in France, Denmark and England. Allen H. Boelter, shipfitter third class, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ruben A. H. Boelter of 2012 North Oak drive, McHenry, was promoted to his present rate while serving aboard the repair ship USS Cadmus, operating out of Norfolk, Va.
