There were a few persons with no children attending this school at present. All four teachers attended, Art Smejkal, Mrs. Luana Lumbar, Mrs. Vanetta Mecklenberg and Mrs. Arline London. Let's try to make it a little better turnout at the next meeting, O.K?? All families in the community are invited, not just parents of school children. You are all welcome. P r e s i d e n t M a r t h a B e t t s started the meeting at 8:30 p.m. with the pledge to the flag. Since last spring's affair was the school picnic, there were no minutes for Secretary, Mrs. Baker to read. Mrs. Eunice Andreas, gave the Treasurer's report. It was approved and seconded as reported. Mrs. Phyllis O'Halleron is vice-president. Starting Oct. 7, there will be hot dogs and bar-b-ques served alternating each week. Wednesday, Sept. 30, Mrs. Phyllis Ackerman, hot lunch chairman, held a meeting for all interested persons who can help with the serving. All persons serving are required to have a Chest X-Ray or shick test. The X-Ray mobile is located behind the court house in Woodstock on the first Friday of every month for your convenience. The Halloween party Is scheduled to be held at the school on Friday, Oct. 30. The admission is to be a dozen donuts. There will be silver dollars as prizes for a boy and girl of each room as well as pre-schoolers, teens and adults. Fines will be collected from all not in costume. So start thinking of something for a costume. There will be a school board meeting held on Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the school. curbs went right on down just as good as was hoped. It's Ringwood For Kicks That's Ralph and Buelah Kick. The Kicks have purchased the Duane Andreas home on Barnard Mill Road and moved into their new Pictures Taken On 16th The photographers will be taking pictures of the school youngsters on Oct. 16, so try not have your child come with a new hair-cut or permanent. The meeting was closed and refreshments were served by the officers. Delicious, I might add. Flag Football Game: Ringwood Lost Our upper grade boys lost a football game to the Channel Lake boys last Tuesday afternoon by a score of 53 to 35 (I think that's right). The boys were right in there fighting, but the Channel Lake boys, coached by Mr. Andreas, had been playing for a longer period of time. Arnold Harvey helped our boys over the weekend before the game as much as he could. The boys should be given a lot of credit, they did real good. rE&£y had quite a cheering group for them. Most of the students stayed after, and many high school pupils and parents also came. Sr. HI M.Y.F. News Last Sunday night we discussed in full the plans of the retreat. We will leave the church at 6:30 p.m. on Friday night and return on Saturday afternoon. We will be going to Kirkland. There we will decide on programs we would like to have for the following year. There will be no M.Y.F. meeting next Sunday evening. Sharon Baker, reporter Teen Club Notes The Barnard Mill Teen Club hold its meeting last Monday, Aug. 21, at the center. New officers were elected at this meeting. Ed Erwin officially became president, after Bonnie Bruce retired. Darrell Barker was elected vice-president. Sam Sands was elected Sergeant of Arms. The next regular meeting will be Oct. 5. Roger Barker, publicity Rummage Sale This Weekend There will be the annual fall rummage sale at the Ringwood Methodist Church on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 2 and 3. On Friday the hours are from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday. If you have any items, you can still bring them up today. What A Wind!! Last Saturday, the wind really blew up a storm. The only damage Ringwood had was part of a large tree downed between Dodds and Rhoades, with no damage outside of holes in the ground from branches. There was also n large branch blown down at the Pearsons, with one of the branches going through the house into the bathroom. Also a branch at the Center. The rains really gave our newly installed storm sewers a chance to show how well they work. The little rivers along the home this past weekend, fron^ their apartment in Richmond. Ringwood welcomes you, Mr. and Mrs. Kick. Natal Days For Many Oct. 1 is Noreen Bauers' birthday, with Mary Ann Klapperich, Lor Brennan and Butch Leonard all celebrating her second birthday on the 7th. Cris Hopp has a natal day on the 9th, with her sister, Mary Beth Hopp celebrating her 10th birthday on the 12th. Sept. 28 was Luke Ackerman's birthday as well as Lloyd Barker. Birthday greetings go out to all, and anybody else who is celebrating a birthday too. Here «N' There Mrs. Robert Boese of Crystal Lake atod Mrs. Nellie Hepburn spent the day in Skokie on Tuesday. On Sunday evening, Mrs. James Wegener and son, Freddy, of McHenry called on the Bob Brennan family. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Freund of McHenry called on Mrs. Nellie Hepburn on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Brennan and son, Wayne, of Twin Lakes, called on his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brennan on Friday. Another week is gone, and that's all to report from Ringwood. California ranks second with 14,- 771 feet, variation. -- Perdonaid -- Mr. and Mrs. David Young are nicely settled in a new home at 3010 West Scott avenue, Country Acres. They moved from their former residence on Court street. Herman Magnesson of Washington Island, Wis., visited in the Alex Wirfs home this past week. Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Yegge, accompanied by Mr..and Mrs. Louit Yegge and daughter, Judy, of Woodstock; Spent the weekend in DeWitt, la. Mrs. V. H. C. Yegge returned with them to spend sometime with her sons and to attend the christening of her great grandson, Jeffrey Yegge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Yegge. *Mrs. Grace Thompson of Waukegan visited relatives in McHenry Sunday. Otto Kerner has. announced that Illinois has been honored as the first state In the Ohio River basin to provide treatment for all sewage wastes being discharged from municipalities into this stream. With the completion of a sewage- treatment plant at Cairo, all Illinois cities on this interstate stream are now providing sewage treatment, according to Clarence W. Klassen, technical secretary of the State Sanitary Water board.
