Agreed? Agreed. Fun Fest Veteran's Acres in Crystal Lake was the scene of the extremely successful day of fun and learning for all the Cadet tes of Sybaquay council (Troops 295 and 41) on Sept. 19. Workshops in songs, nature, fun and games, arts and crafts filled the day and the lanterns made in the craft workshop lighted the impressive silent pi'ocession down to the lake for Scouts Own at dusk. Beautiful ending to a lovely day. Coming and Going The Zeigers recently attended the wedding of Adeline's niece, in Valparaiso, Ind. (Adeline drove down and Hank flew down alone because he had to get back to work that same day). At a ceremony in Boone Grove Lutheran church, Sandra Tufert became the bride of Dick Ousley, a potential dentist. At the reception Adeline informed Dick that the family were all saving their cavities for him. Quick-witted Dick replied in his southern drawl, "Well, I hadn't thought of going into socialized medicine, but I'll give it some thought." Mrs. Emma Olson was clearly delighted by the overnight visit of "old friends from way back": Mr. and Mrs. George Condon of Lovington, Mich., whom Mrs. Olson hadn't seen in two years. After lots of chatter and cards, the Condons departed for the home of their daughter, and then will continue on to their winter home in Florida. The Estates Revisited: Jim and Grace Krzyzak were the recent house guests of the Fiedlers. How strange it must have seemed to be visiting across the street from their own home. The Krzyzaks attended the wedding of Jim's cousin in Chicago and the rest of the time was spent having a "good old fashioned gab fest and playing cards" at the Fiedler home. The Krzyzaks plan to keep their Dells motel opened through the fall and winter for the hunters. The Leahys house guest last weekend was Jim's step-father of Bay City, Mich. Was he ever happy to see our roads getting whipped into shape: he has been here before! Tom and Delores Hanahan recently attended a three day convention in Decatur. Busy time for Tom. "It couldn't have happened to more deserving people", said Alice Bieschke recounting t^he surprise twenty-fifth anniversary party given in Chicago on the1 evening of Sept. 19 for her aunt and uncle, Millie 4nd Eddie Ehrenberg. It was all planned and plotted by the Ehrenberg's son, daughter-in-law, and daughter who took the parents out to dinner and upon arrival home were greeted by a large chorus shouting "Surprise!!" The Bieschkes thoroughly enjoyed being part of doing something so nice for people who are always doing such nice things for others. Candle Capers On her birthday, the 22nd, Laureli Jost's guests "were sister, Arlene Thiel, and her family for dinner and then friends Sandy and Tommy Fry and Delores Bierchen for a pleasant evening. Dogs Running Loose I have had complaints about the dogs running loose in Lilymoor. Most of the dogs belong to residents of Lilymoor. People are tired of the garbage cans being knocked over, and their lawns messed up by these dogs. Dogs will break loose once in a great while but not seven days a week. The only thing is to talk to the owners of the dogs and if this does no good sign a complaint against the owners of the dog. Several of the dogs have been getting into packs and going after the children waiting for the school bus. After these dogs jump a small child or children its too late, then the damage is done. Do something before this happens. Lakemoor Drill Team sponsored by the McHenry V.F.W. Post 4600 will start practice again right after January 1, 1965. Squib Mirrison has not given up with the drill team, he has a lot of work to be caught up with on his home. So kids disregard the story you have heard about Squib giving up the team.
