Dave's mother is Mrs. Elizabeth Boyle Witti whom he has been residing while Nancy's parents are Mrs. Fred Rogers, also of Woodstock. * * "For the 7:30 p.m. services, Nancy was softly feminine in an aqua lace over taffeta street length sheath with matching jaoket and accessories. Her corsage was composed of white roses. Her matron of honor--Mrs. {Stilyley Ahrens, wore a matching outfit but in pink. Both mothers were appropriately gowned for the occasion. Somewhere in the vicinity of seventy-five guests were on hand for the refreshments served in the bride's home, following the ceremony. • Nancy arid Dave are postponing honeymoon plans until Dave completes the schooling mentioned in an earlier column. Prior to her nuptials, the bride was honored at two showers, the first given by fellow employees. This one was held at a restaurant near Marengo. Following dinner, the hostess had arranged that the guests participate in games, and Nancy's gifts were just fabulous. The second party was for both Nancy and Dave when they were surprised by several couples at a party in their honor. Those attending collaborated and presented one large handsome gift. The guest list Included Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mansfield, the Albert Mansfields, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ahrens, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Courier, Miss Betty Mavis and Lyle Seller, and the Fred Rogers. Sincere best wishes to Nancy and Dave as they take on the job of "two can live as cheaply as one!" Harvest Moon Ordered For Saturday P.M. At the least the young people who will be going on the hay ride this Saturday night hope "the powers that be" will co-operate and give them a nice big moon and clear skies for their big date! Village Board Three out of five trustees voted to move the school shelter located at Gate 4 arid the blacktop to the n.e. corner of Gate 4 and W. Parkview at the last meeting of the board held Monday, Oct. 12, in the beachhouse. The building will be painted to improve the appearance. Routine committee reports were made and road repairs for this season h®a been completed. The next meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 26, at 8 p.m. in the beachhouse. Members of the community are encouraged to attend. Get Those Costumes Ready For the annual Hallowe'en party sponsored by the Cullom- Knoll association and will be held Saturday, Oct. 31, in the beachhouse. Kick-off time is 7:30 p.m. There will be all sorts of games, prizes for three age groups, a huge bonfire and a real WITCH!! The youngsters will be divided thusly for the costume judging: 4, 5 and 6 year olds in one group--7, 8 and 9 in another-- and 10, 11 and 12 year olds in the top bracket. Rich Johnson is "commanderin- chief" and being assisted by A1 McKim and daughter, Karen, Mrs. Gerry Jensen, Bonny Egerstaffer, Dawn Parenti, Mary Aalto and Edna Ayres. Shower For New Bride Sally and Papa Olsen motored to the city last weekend to attend the post nuptial shower for Sally's third grandchild to marry within a year. Latest bride in the Charles Temple household was Miss Marsha Temple of Chicago who became the bride Of John Fenyves recently. Her groom escaped during the Hungarian revolution and came to this country seeking freedom. He traded this for the very happy "bondage" of marriage with the gal of his choice! Parents of the bride, Gert and Charles Temple, already gave daughters, Susan and Lynn, earlier in the year, but they have Jill--16, Peggy--13, and Judy--8 for company. Sure will be quite a gathering at the Temple household when their four married kids (son, Robert, has been wed for some time) and their spouses descend during the holidays! "Where The Deer And The Antelope Play" In Gillette, Wyo., was the destination for some happy hunters two weeks ago. Dr. Cliff and Glad Nelson of Battle Creek, Mich., picked up Cliff's dad in their bus with a sliding roof (to facilitate shooting without leaving the vehicle) and joined a caravan including a total of six couples and two men for the western journey. The itinerary westward included stops at Seward, Nebr.; Denver, Colo.; Cheyenne, Wyo.; and then on to the "happy hunting grounds" in Gillette. The homeward leg took the travellers through Rapid City, S. D.; a visit to the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S. D.; Des Moines, Iowa; Moline and home. The larder is full in the various households with a total of eight antelope shot during the hunt. When Papa Clayt came home, he prevailed upon Emma and Earl--handy-dandy butchers--to help carve the carcass, and the steaks, chops, and roasts area nestled all snug In the freezer for "good eatin" this winter. Elsie remained at home and kept the boiler humming. Raft "Bedded Down" Thanks to some superlative equipment loaned by Fred Matthesius, there wasn't tod much difficulty beaching the raft 'Mast Sunday a.m. When he heard of the problems encountered from lack of help the previous weekend, community conscious Fred stated succinctly, "Use the new rig!" Bill" Brennan handled the controls with help from Bob Fernandez, Roger Kinsey, Bill Kumpula and two offspring, Tom Olsen, Frank Kurth, and teeners -- Don Nelson, Tiny Tomasello, and two of the Taylor children. Harry Berry and his boat were invaluable. Mighty cold for a swim! The job was completed in record time and no problems until next swimming season and we'll see how co-operative the young lads are then! Unfunny Prank Tarns Serious Mention of the snarled up flag pole rope resulted in serious damage the past week. The rope was ripped from its moorings and lay on the ground when Mrs. Nelson attempted to raise "Old Glory", Sunday morning. Perhaps it should be stated for the "kook" who doesn't know, that the flag pole located in the Memorial Park is property that belongs to ALL the residents of our fair hamlet! When wanton destruction occurs, it creates an expense for all of us! Mrs. Nelson performs this service as a patriotic and civic task and does it willingly until some "sick mirid" comes along. Future Bride Hospitalized Miss Donna Harris of Powers Lake who will becope the bride of Tom Kacprowicz on Nov. 7 was a patientyat McHenry hospital from Sunday afternoon until yesterday. She was in for observation, treatment and medication for an old malady. Plans for their nuptials are proceeding on schedule. Their new home will be ready for occupancy and they have selected the Community Methodist church for the service. We hope Donna's difficulties are in the past so she and Tom can thoroughly enjoy this most wonderful time of planning and contemplating their future. Fast Trip To See The Folks The Ringelstetters--Lillian, Mark, Tom and John, motored to Columbus, Wis., to visit Lil's parents, the Frank Walaseks, over Saturday and Sunday. Mr. Walasek has suffered several heart attacks but has recovered and looks and feels good, according to Lillian. The four continued on to Sun Prairie, some miles distant, to visit with Mark's family and arrived home on Sunday. New Grandchild Announced Henrietta and Harold Vycital are passing cigars and candy in behalf of son, John, who became a father for the second time on Oct. 14. Cynthia Ann is the little lady's name and she weighed in at 7 lbs., 12 oz. John and his wife live in Beach Haven, N. J., but E3/c John is stationed in Bainbridge, Md. Their other child is Vickie who was 1 in September. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Cranmer of New Jersey and the little girls have two living greatgrandmothers.
