Sympathy Extended We know we are joined by the entire subdivision in extending our deepest sympathy to the Morrie Ketchum family on the death of Morrie's grandfather, Henry A. Ketchum, and to the family of the late John J. Arndt. The two were involved in a car accident last week. Mr. Arndt had resided in our community for eight years and leaves his wife, Adele, a son, John, Jr., and daughter, Leona Arndt Bujak, both of whom reside in Wonder Lake. Three grandchildren are also Mr. Arndt's survivors. Mr. Arndt was buried from St. Mary's church last Friday morning. May they rest in peace. Richard weighed in at 7 lbs. 5 oz. He has one brother, Bobby, and two sisters, Nancy and Carole. Warning! Danger! I received a call from Frank Gans of the McHenry Hunting Club telling me that with the hunting season now opened, the children must stay out of Cooney Woods behind Lakeland Shores. Hunters that were in there last weekend were complaining of children from Lakeland Park being in there, so parents, know where your children are playing and make sure it is not where they can get hurt. First Holy Communion On Sunday, Oct. 25, the Feast of Christ the King, 104 youngsters received the Blessed Sacrament of Holy Eucarist at St. Mary's church. The little girls in their white dresses and veils will never look more radiant nor the boys more handsome. Our prayers were with them all, but especially to the youngsters from our own subdivision who were among the group. Johnnie Hendle was the honored guest for a large group of his relatives who had come from many places to help him celebrate. His mom and dad served a delicious turkey dinner. Mark Kawa was also one of the youngsters who were honored on that day. Cindy Kamp had thirty-five of her relatives sharing in a 1 o'clock turkey dinner and wonderful afternoon. Daniel Koch was also the honored guest at a turkey dinner and party for a large group of his relatives Boy Scout Troop /45i Next Tuesday, Nov. Seeing election day our troop's meeting will be cancelled due to the fact that the Community house will be the scene of ballot counting. The 6th, 7th and 8th is the Fall campout for our troop, we will be going to Wilmot Park and are to meet at the Community House at 5 p.m. It's about a half hours ride and any parents who can drive are urged to call Committee Chairman Jim Daurio at 385-3160, it will be greatly appreciated as transportation is always a problem. Hope all Scouts got in their fees so they can attend. Mark your calendars now with the dates and also all Scouts are asked to make sure their parents fulfill their privilege as an American, get them out to VOTE. nice gals Donna Rode and Wilma Atkinson. The girls all received their birthday spankings. The girls have received their Girl Scout calen dars now and will be selling them to their parents and friends, so help them out when you are asked. Cub Scouts A Halloween party was the main event at the Cub pack meeting last week Monday. The boys all wore costumes and really gave the judges a rough time deciding. The winners were, "Mummy" Donald Prazak, "Majorette" Ronnie Fern strom was prettiest and Scot Belohlavy as a Ubangie, was winner of the most original Games were played and refreshments were served. A new den mother Marion Hulbert has taken over Den 5 for Aggie Prazak. Her meetings will be on Tuesdays after school Little League Banquet A very enjoyable evening was had last Saturday by the Little league boys and their annual little league ^anquet. The Ringwood church women served one of their delicious roast beef dinners of which I have heard nothing but praise. The only complaint my son had was that he ate so much dinner he couldn't finish his apple pie. After dinner Cliff F\ilton, the coach from McHenry high school, gave a talk which everyone enjoyed very much. The boys who were leaving Little League were then given their trophies. They are as follows; Jack Laursen from the Tigers, Dave Bockman, Ken Becker, Mike Hamer, Mike Krug, from the Braves; Kirk Links, Steve George, Kevin Schultz from the Orioles; Kevin Druml, Jim Oef fling, Greg Mayer, John Reining from the Cubs; Russ Rode, Kevin Lavin, Doug Belohlavy, David Johnson, and Dennis Johnson from the Sox; and Ed Gilbertsen, Tom Lagios, and from the Pirates. Congratulations And Best Wishes are going out to the following members of our subdivision who celebrate their own very special days during the coming week. To that really wonderful guy, Irv Becker, who admits to starting to live on the 30th. Candles on two birthday cakes were blown out at the Druml home on Saturday. Eddie, Jr., (Bud) was home for the weekend and had turned 22 the previous Tuesday so his birthday cake was waiting for him on Saturday. Dennis turned 14 on that day so he also had a cake. Helping the boys celebrate besides mom, dad and their two other brothers were grandma and grandpa Druml, aunt Bette and uncle Bill Kamp and their cousins, Danny, Ronnie and Cindy Kamp, Donna and Davey Smith, Mary, Jim, Mick, Jimmy and Tommy Daurio. Bud's Air Force buddy, Phil, also enjoyed the festivities. The past six weeks seem to have flown by very rapidly for our Marine son, David. He reported back for duty at Great Lakes on Monday. Hope his remaining two years of active duty fly by as rapidly for all of us. Marion Duffy was hostess to Sue Funk, Lorraine Arient, Wilma Atkinson, last Wednesday afternoon for Tripoley. Lovable little Jol-Lynn Prazak seems to be very much a young lady at her 17 months of age. Seems "Bijou" has been watching a member of TOPS and now does exercises the minute she hears music. Whoever said youngsters aren't observant? Jol-Lynn should be able to keep her girlish figure without any trouble, she's getting a good start. ^ Those happy go lucky gals, Ann Herzog, Ivy Lezak and Delia Julian took another ride into the country on Sunday to enjoy the fall colors. Ivy's son, Danny, was also Delia's guest for the ride. Ann Herzog had a wonderful dinner for the group afterwards and then the ladies enjoyed their favorite card game.
