PISTAKEE HIGHLANDS KAY SIELISCH 497-8414 Scribe Writes Final Column This being my last week as your correspondent, I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all the wonderful folks who took the time to call in their news and I wish to especially express that gratitude to the following gals who have been my mainstay week after week. Without their news contacts every week, my column would not have been as long and full of news as it was. These calls will carry a veiy special place in my heart, they are: Audry Morin, Jeanne Hillstrom, Lorraine Hurckes, Harriet Wilson and Ellie Wroblewski. I just want you to know how grateful I am to each of you, and I shall miss my weekly calls to you gals. Your cooperation and patience with me was very rewarding. For the most part writing the column has been fun, but a lot of work. I have made a lot of friends ^ind a lot of enemies. I still firmly believe no matter what we do in life we will never please everyone. The kind folks I encountered by far out weighed the cranks. I have been a correspondant for so long that I am sure I will automatically try and meet a deadline for a couple of weeks. I want to wish Rosemary Lutz all the luck in the world and my best wishes for her success. A word to the wise, Rosemary, develop a thick skin and take the good with the bad and you will have it made. I shall be looking forward to reading your column each week and I hope all the readers will keep you supplied with news. Son Mourns Mother's Passing All the friends and neighbors join me in extending our sympathies to Bob and Rosemary Lutz. Bob's mother, Violette M. Lutz, had not been ill and finding her dead in bed Oct. 16 was a shock the whole family will feel for a long time. Violette was only 59 years of age and was so full of life. She was a very beautiful woman and a very lovely person. Bob's mother and dad had lived in Scarda's Subdivision in Ingleside for 15 years and had a summer home there for 30 years, before making their permanent home there. Mrs. Lutz was born April 19, 1905 in Chicago and is sui*vived by her husband, Alphonse, a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Glatz of Mundelein, two sons. Robert of Pistakee Highlands and Clarence of Inglesirie. Services were held at the K. K. Ham- ¥i™s rusher Funeral Home in Fox Lake, Monday, Oct. 19. Interment was in St. John's Cemetery. We know, Bob, words can be inadequate at a time like this but please remember that God took your mother for a special reason and forever more she will be watching over you and yours and maybe those thoughts will lesson the pain just a little. Mount Hope Methodist Church Notes The organist for the Oct. 18 services was Dolores Gregg, the lay reader was Everett Sisk, the candle lighter was Laura Gregg, the greeters were LaVerne and Eugene Sarver. Harry Stinespring delivered a very inspiring sermon. Since this was Laymen's Sunday, its purpose was to show that the men have an active and vital role in the church. "Reb" Sisk is the lay reader. Dick Morley is chairman of the official board. The choir consisted of men. Rev. Jay Althouse, the new Minister of Youth, preached the sermon, Sunday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. The Junior choir sang for the services. Jeanne has been making her home with her parents, Arthur and Hazel Jensen, on Broadway for the past three years. Last Wednesday night Oct. 14, Audry was rushed to McHenry hospital in very severe pain, due to gall bladder trouble, Thursday Don was out of work due to a strike, so he drove to Chicago and picked up his mother and she came out to stay with the kiddies until Audrey gets out of the hospital. The three smaller boys have been pretty sick and Don has been busy taking them to the doctor and visiting Audry. Things began to look a little brighter Oct. 20 when Don went back to work. Audry was feeling much better but still conifned in the hospital. In my last call to her at the hospital, she is awaiting possible surgery for gall stones and ulcer. Hope you're home soon gal, and take it "easy. Our prayers will be with you for a speedy and full recovery. Residents on Meadow Hill Lane are cautioned to keep everything under lock and key. Last week one woman had to go out for the day and before she left she put all the children's toys in the garage including the girls bikes and a brand new tricycle, but she didn't lock the doors. When she came home the trike was. found way down this end of the block and had been damaged. Things have been disappearing frequently on this block. Folks on the two blocks of Meadow are getting pretty fed up with the party responsible for these things and one day soon they will take measures to correct it. From now on you better lock up everything and nail it down. Glass is being broken all over the roads and one does not know where to drive down ^ this street to protect their fores. The benefits and increases are provided by a new amendment to the social security law which changes the rule for setting the date on which a worker's "period of disability" started. "We have the names and addresses of those who applied, and we either have already written to them or we will within a few days," Barnett said. They do not need to take any action right away, but if they do not hear from us within two weeks they should call or write us."
