Bride Honored At Two Showers Mrs. Donald Jensen, the former Marilyn Jean Miller, was honored at two pre-nuptial showers in recent weeks. A linen shower was given by Mrs. Lewis Jensen, her motherin- law, at Chippewa Falls, Wis., attended by fifteen guests. At this time she met her future relatives. Another shower was given by her bridal attendants, Patricia Ahlberg, Lynn Hemm and Evelyn Cichon, held at the Ahlberg residence in McHenry. About thirty guests attended the miscellaneous shower from Chicago, Cicero, Woodstock, Ingleside, Richmond and McHenry. Games were enjoyed and the bride-to-be opened many lovely gifts. St. Patrick's Catholic church, McHenry, was the setting for a pretty autumn wedding last Saturday, Oct. 24, in which Miss Marilyn Jean Miller exchanged nuptial vows with Mr. Donald Gregory Jensen, HN/- USN. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Joseph Miller of 114 Lily Lake road and the late Joseph Miller, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Jensen of 210 E. Grand avenue, Chippewa Falls, Wis. Rev. Fr. Eugene Parker officiated at the 11:30 o'clock wedding, for which Mrs. Carl Weber played traditional music. The church was decorated with altar vases of white carnation's. and another bouquet was placed at the altar of the Blessed Virgin by the bride. Miss Miller, given in marriage by her brother, Gerald Miller of Chicago, was radiant as she approached the altar wearing a dress fashioned of peau de soie and chantilly lace, styled with a fitted bodice, long, tapered sleeves of lace and accented by a portrait neckline outlined with sequins. A bell-shaped skirt of white peau de soie with soft side pleats fell into a chapel length train. Her vail of English silk illusion fell from a crown of pearls and crystals and she carried a cascade of white carnations and stephanotis centered by a white orchid. The orchid was later removed to wear with her going-away ensemble. Mrs. Evelyn Cichon of Cicero, her sister, acted as matron of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Lynn Hemm of Ingleside, a friend, and Mrs. Phlilip Ahlberg of McHenry, the bride's cousin. They wore bright blue, floor length dresses featuring lace bodices, with beaded midriffs and skirts of silk organza. Their headpieces were two-tiered tiaras of pearls and veils of net. They wore drop pearl necklaces, gifts ' of the bride, and carried casj cade bouquets of white carnations centered with blue carnations and greens. Lewis Jensen of Chippewa Falls, brother of the groom, served as best man and groomsmen were Richard Yager of Wonder Lake, a close friend, and Phillip Ahlberg, cousin of the bride. Mrs. filler chose for her daughter's wedding a beige dress over rosy beige taffeta, and an orchid corsage. • Mrs. Jensen wore an aqua, two piece suit, black accessories and an orchid corsage. A reception for 150 guests was held at the Ahlberg residence at 1113 N. Fourth street at 2 o'clock in the afternoon with a buffet lunch being served. Entertaining at the reception were The Pipers Four, friends of Mr. Ahlberg, composed of Richard Schroeder, Gerald Miller, Jack Coots and Richard Ritt. They sang a musical prayer before dinner, as well as other selections honoring the bride and groom. The newlyweds have delayed their wedding trip until the bridegroom obtains a longer leave. They will reside in McHenry for the next year, until his discharge from the- Navy. The bride was educated in Chicago and is employed at Rae Motors, Inc. The bridegroom attended school in Chippewa, Falls, Wis., and works in the medical branch of the Navy at Great Lakes. After his discharge the young couple plan to make thier home in Chippewa Falls. McHenry, IIL A beautiful autumn wedding was solemnized in St. Mary's Catholic church last Saturday, Oct. 24, when Miss Joy Lynne Fairchild, daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Fairchild, became the bride of Mr. Richard C. Herdrich, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Herdrich, all of McHenry. Rev. Fr. Eugene Baumhofer officiated at the 10 o'clock nuptial rite, for which Sister Andreella offered appropriate organ music. The church was decorated with bouquets of white mums on the altar. Pretty Miss Fairchild walked down the aisle on the arm of her uncle, Lyle L. Fairchild of Mundelein, wearing a gown of silk faille, styled with fitted bodice, featuring a scoop neckline and elbow length sleeves. The controlled skirt fell into a cathedral train. Both the bodice and skirt were appliqued with medallions of alencon lace and reembroidered with pearls and crystal beads. Her bridal headpiece was of matching lace and had a three-tiered silk illusion bouffant veil. She carried a crescent shaped bouquet of white orchids and pom poms with gardenia leaves. Miss Karen Busch of McHenry acted as maid of honor and bridesmaids were Sandra Fairchild, sister of the bride, Nanci Buckner and Sherry Evans, friends, and Linda Herdrich, sister of the groom, all of McHenry, and Mary Spinsky of Indiana. They were attired similarly in dresses of blue cloud chiffon, with empire styling, floor length, and matching headpieces with blusher veils. They carried crescent-shaped bouquets of Amazon white lilies with pom poms tinted blue. Don Herdrich served his brother as best man and groomsmen were James Herdrich, another brother, Ken Stilling, Gerald Stilling, Bob Hettermann and Joe Hettermann, cousins of the groom. An invitation is extended to all members, their families and friends to attend. A delicious turkey and roast beef dinner, family style, will be served the public, and there will also be refreshments. Members of the club suggest this as an excellent opportunity for friends who have not yet had an opportunity to become acquainted with the latest improvements in the clubhouse to do so, as well as to meet new friends. Serving will start at 6:30 o'clock. In order to assure a success, reservations for tickets are requested to be made no later than Oct. 31 by notifying Richard Hiller, who is in charge of arrangements. The children's choir offered nuptial music in a church decorated for the wedding with bouquets of white mums on the altar. The bodice was trimmed with re-embroidered alencon lace, decorated with iridescent sequins and pearls. The skirt and chapel train were decorated with lace as well as the sequins and pearls. Her crown was a small cluster of iridescent flowers with a bouffant, fingertip veil. Miss Hansen carried a cascade of white cymbidium orchids and stephanotis.
