For those who have never seen them dance, you're in for & treat and those of you who saw them last year will be amazed at the difference. We hope that everyone who said they would bring cupcakes or milk will remember because we are counting on them. Also, bring your dollar for Jo Rizzo for our Christmas party. This must be in this week so Jo can start making plans, invitations, and decorations. General Meeting1 For those who get the paper on Wednesday night, don't forget the very important General meeting which is being held tonight at the Community house, 8 p.m. Boy Scout Troop 459 Last Tuesday evening our Boy Scout troop celebrated its third year birthday with the largest group of Scouts and their parents they've ever had in attendance. The meeting opened with Scoutmaster Ed Druml calling for the presentation of colors by the Explorers. After a brief talk to the Scouts and parents our Scoutmaster was joined by assistant Scoutmaster Art Tiffany and Committee Chairman Jim Daurio to give out the following awards: Tenderfoot patches were awarded to Mike Koch, John and Don Arient, Dale Wilson, Ronnie Kamp and Donnie Williams. Second class award went to Mike Jensen and first class awards went to Steve George, Kevin Druml, Mark Bartos and Jerry Zalud. Each boy pinned a replicia of his badge on his mother. Dennis Druml is the troop's Senior Patrol Leader and Danny Kamp arid Mike Daurio were promoted to the rank of Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders. Made Patrol Leaders were Mark Bartos, Kevin Druml and Tom Wagner. New assistant Patrol Leaders are Doug Belaholvy, Doug Funk and Ken Becker, Receiving one year service pins were Chuck Fernstrom, Mike Ketchum, Kevin Druml, Kenny Becker, Mike Jensen, Doug Fun, Bob Matthews, John Arient, Russ Rode, Billy Eckhart, Steve George, John Reining, Mark Bartos, Doug Belaholvy and Jack Morris. Jerry Erb a transfer Scout was also awarded his one year pin. Two year pins went to Dennis Druml, Dan Kamp, Mike Daurio, Paul Schwegel, Tom Wagner and Jerry Zalud. Given special pats on the back and a tremendous round of applaus were five of the eleven Scouts who are charter members of our troop. These Scouts have been with the troop ,for its 3 years, Dennis Druml, Danny Kamp, Mike Dauri, Paul Schwegel and Tommy Wagner. Colors were retired and refreshments served after Mr. Druml was given three cup cakes with candles by Mrs. Arient. Everyone sang "Happy birthday". Mrs. Arient was in charge of refreshments and helping her serve was Mrs. Belaholvy and Mrs. Braun. Also on her committee were Messrs. Donnelly, Erb, Fernstrom, Funk, George Zalud and Mor- Drivo For ChriHtmas Gifts Boy Scout troop 459 took 1,- 325 gifts to Dixon last year to help make sure that the residents there had some gifts. This year the drive will be held on November 21. The Scouts and their leaders will go door to door on that date to collect your gifts. We hope you will all be as generous as you were last year. These residents have so little to make them happy, won't you help? Mark the date down now and have something ready for the drive. Anyone desiring to give now or needing a pick-up can do so by calling Scoutmaster Ed Druml at 385- 3070 or Committee Chairman Jim Daurio at 385-3160. The Scouts will also have tickets for their Indian and variety show to sell. We hope everyone will give the lads a helping hand by purchasing a ticket. The group has put their show on for Downey hospital, other Cub and Scout organizations, various clubs and camp-o-rees. Their planned show will have many of the things done at previous shows but will also have many more new numbers. This troop has always been very good in helping out others, it's hoped that now every one will give them a helping5 hand, by purchasing a ticket. Sympathy Extended . Our very deepest is extended to Dot tie and Irv Becker and their, children Dot tie's dad, George Cox, went to his eternal reward on Oct. 30. Burial was on Monday with funeral Mass at St. Henry's and interment at All Saints Cemetery in Chicago. May he rest in peace. Condolences are also extended to Mr. and Mrs. Thillges whose six week old granddaughter joined the angels in heaven on Oct. 25. Special Days Happy birthday greetings are extended to Wayne Cygan who will be 12 and to Alan Moll who will be 10 today, Nov. 5. Joan Schwegel, Bob Kozy and Virginia Hodges all share the 7th as their natal days. On the 11th Bobby Minor will be 12, Robert Deitz, 15, and Michael Miyaki, 7. Three real nice couples all have wedding anniversaries during the coming week. The 5th has Donna and Ray Rode sharing their 15th year of wedded bliss. On the 7th Adelle and Bob Kroening will celebrate number 14 and on the 8th Kitty and George Hendle will mark up number 12 on their years of togetherness. 4-H Club Meeting Nov. 7, at 1 o'clock there will be a 4-H club meeting at the community house. Anyone from ages 10 to 19 are urged to come. We are going to elect officers for the coming year. Parents are always welcome so please come too. Brownies, Troop 464 The Brownie troop 464 celebrated their first birthday last Tuesday with a special birthday cake for the occasion. Next week, Nov. 10, they will have their investiture, officially becoming Brownies. The mothers will be invited on this occasion. Get-Wei I Wishes We sure hope that the flu bug that has been going around has just about finished Its course, seems everyone we talk to has it or has had someone in the family sick with it. Billy Eckhart was home Monday and so was Linda Meurer. Shirley George and her son Kenny were down with it last weekend, as well as many other people. The German Measles are also making the rounds, Alan Meurer had them last week and Terri Kozy was broken out the first of this week. Elmira Kujak is a patient at McHenry Hospital for nose surgery. Hope you're feeling better by now. Former resident Don Sea ton is also a hospital patient. Just heard that Bob and Jessie Matthews will be able to take their baby, Richard Thomas, home for the first time Wednesday, (yesterday). He really has gone through a lot in his short lifetime. Strolling Through The Park Sue and Ron Funk, Mickey and Ed Gladman had a wonderful dinner out at a nearby restaurant on Saturday. Ron and Ed had been hunting earlier during the day with Fred Ludwig. The boys bagged a dozen mud hens. Last Wednesay Sue Funk was hostess for Tripoley session at her home. .orraine Arient, Wilma Atkinsbn and Marion Duffy joined Susie. Blanche and Ed Geishecker and four of their five daughters spent Halloween out here with Blanche's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Oswald. The Geisheckers were very busy "Treating" the Oswalds home to a new coat of paint. Mr. and Mrs. Thilljes helped Mrs. Thilljes's sister and brother- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leider of Union Grove, Wis. celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Oct. 17. Told us they had a wonderful time. Hope Dottie Becker's flu is much better by this time. Dottie sure felt miserable on Friday. We also hope that Matt Grizely's cracked ribs are much improved. Matt fell at work and sustained his injury which has caused him great discomfort. Doug Funk was the weekend guest of Jimmy Donnelly's. Speaking of the Donnellys, doesn't Bill look very distinguished with his Mitch Miller type beard? We all thought so. Mike Koch, Mike Ketchum, Doug and Eddie Funk, Jack Morris, Ronnie Kamp and Kevin Druml entertained a large group of St. Mary's youngsters last Friday by doing a very small part of their Indian Dances during the lunch hour. The Scouts did a fine job and were assisted by Mrs. Kamp and Mrs. Druml. Pat Mikas had a terrific Halloween party. Part of the evening was spent on a Scavenger hunt and "Tricks or Treating" and everyone had a wonderful time. The Paul Richardsons had Pat's sister and husband Gus and Barbara Karavites, °as dinner guests last weekend along with their four children, Debbie, Donna, Diane and son, Gus, Jr. Del Gerstad attended a Halloween party at the Wheelock farm last Friday. Marion Hulbert had fourteen in for mineral identification a week ago last Thursday. On Sunday, Grandma Hulbert was brought out by Mr. and Mrs. Everett Dittmer, Marion's sister and husband, and she will remain for a week or more. Hope she^enjoys her stay. Debbie Barwig's Great Grandmother came out from Chicago to help celebrate Debbie's Communion at St. Mary's church a week ago. She stayed out the week for a celebration on Nov. 1 when her family helped her celebrate her seventy-seventh birthday. About 30 people were on hand for the celebration. Mary Ann Borchert became Mrs. Richard Miscinski on Saturday. The nuptial high Mass was read at 11 in St. Peter's church. Among the attendants were Mary Ann's sister, Bebe Leone, who served as her sister's matron of honor, her niece Debbie Leone was flower girl. Following the ceremony a reception was held ait the Johnsburg hall for 140 guests. The young couple are now honeymooning in Wisconsin and will make their home in Chicago. Our very best wishes for a long and happy married life are extended to the couple. Liz, make sure Mary Ann sees our column. Pam Haefer was guest of honor on the 28th. The occasion marked her sixth birthday. Her party was attended by many of her little girl friends who all enjoyed the bonfire and singing as well as the weenie roast and taffy apples. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sewoski had unexpected dinner guests on Sunday. Coming out for the day were their son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sewoski, also a cousin, Miss Frances Cominskey, and Charlene Mueller and her two daughters. The Muellers also reside in our subdivision. Sunday had Ann Herzog visiting with her family in Lombard. Ann's daughter and sonin- law, Mr. and Mrs. E. Petey, Jack and the Oakford children went into the city on Sunday to take Jack's dad and a real good family friend, Mrs. Grace McGladick, out for dinner. The occasion was to honor both of them on their birthdays. On Friday, the Eckarts went to Delavan, Wis., to take grandma Eve out for dinner. On Saturday, Nedra's brother, Wayne Chamblin, returned their kindness by taking all three Eckhart out to dinner. Sunday, "Jim Daurio's sister, Tess, and his future brotherin- law came out to spend the day with the Daurio family. Earlier in the week Jim and his three sons had gone into the city to visit with his mom. Hope your mom is feeling much better by now, Jim. We were real pleased to see Cindy Kujak out "Trick or treating" from her wheel chair on Hal loween. Jim Woods was home recently from boot camp. Jim is now stationed in Florida. Thursday, Dottie Becker's uncle, Rev. Norman, was the Ik*cker family dinner guest. Grandma and grandpa Becker came out over the weekend to give Dottie a badly needed helping hand. A buffet supper, birthday cake and coffee were served by Vivian and John Steele on Sunday to honor Viv's mother's birthday. Besides Mrs. Florence Williams of Forest Park there were Mr. and Mrs. James Williams and their three children, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Williams and their four children of Meadowdale, Mrs. Judith Halada of Lombard and Russell Williams of Forest Park. Later in the evening the group enjoyed seeing movies of Viv's brother's trip to Florida. The Frank Hromec family enjoyed the visit of LaVerne's dad, John P. Cornett of Colorado, to the utmost over the weekend. Grandpa went to see his grandson, Bruce, play football Saturday morning. In the evening Frank and La- Verne and Mr. Cornett and other family members went into the city to have dinner and enjoy a very, very terrific evening. $ Delia Julian's birthday this year was one celebration after another. It all began on Oct. 27 when Delia had the, following friends in for cake coffee and a very lovely evening. Helping out for the occasion were Helen and Gene Kraskiewicz, Ivy and Stan Lezak, Ruth Chadwick, Louise McEnery, Wilma and Elwood Crane, Florence and Tony Piasecki, Edna and Tom Hountras and Wednesday, the 28th, was Delia's actual natal day and bridge was the order of entertainment at the home of Ruth McMahon. Ruth had made an angel food cake and another birthday cake for Delia. Heard the cake was just "Heavenly." Halloween was carried out throughout the refreshments served even to the ice cream shaped like Jack-o-lanterns. Delia also took first place in the games of bridge followed by Ruth in second. These ladies also enjoyed a wonderful evening, Ann Herzog, Louise McEnery, Ivy Lezak, Lucille Deitz, Joyce Braun and Gayle Laursen. Thursday, the home of Edna Hountras was the scene of a lovely luncheon and another birthday celebration honoring Delia. These ladies joined in on the celebration and playing of Tripoley, Louise McEnery, Ruth McMahon, Grace Mandziara, Ivy Lezak and Ann Herzog. Halloween was celebrated at Delia's with a very wonderful supper where everyone brought a dish to pass. The business is located at 1200 N. Green street on Sept. 1. The owner is Alyce Joyce Shay, who is not a newcomer to the music business. She operated Alyce Joyce Music studio in McHenry for many years. Mrs. Shay has taught piano and organ for the past twelve years and she now supervises all instructions at the studios in piano, organ and guitar and accordion. Mrs. Shay played professionally in this area for many years and draws upon this experience to assist those who have established this as their goal. In addition to instructions, they are affiliated with woman was really out of this world.
