Harvard Honpital Nathan Lubke of McHenry was a patient during the past week in Harvard hospital. Memorial Hospital During the past week patients admitted to Memorial hospital, Woodstock, included Harry Christman, Frank Jeffries, Joan Rankin and Master Brian Stahl, Wonder Lake; Viola Lowe, Ringwood; Sandra Neff, Master Randy Schiller and Roxane Schiller, McHenry. Obituaries MARIE SPRINGENBERG Services were conducted at the George R. Justen & Son chapel at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning for Mrs. Frank ((Marie Jane) Springenberg, followed by burial in Woodstock cemetery, McHenry. Mrs. Springenberg, 76 years old, died at the Villa Nursing home Sunday, Dec. 6, following an illness of six months. She had resided there for a year, having come from Glenview. The deceased was a native of Concord, Ky., where she was born May 19, 1888. Survivors are the widower; a brother, Mack Layton, of Fairhaven, Mich.; and a nephew, Richard Layton, of McHenry. ROBERT MACLURE Services will be held at 1 o'clock Thursday from the Hamsher chapel in Fox Lake for Robert Maclure, 69, of Pistakee Highlands. Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery, Chicago. Maclure, 69, a resident of 5318 N. Lake street, died Saturday evening, Dec. 5, in a Los Angeles, Calif., hospital. He and his wife had been visiting a daughter, Mrs. Earl Locke, in that city for a month. The deceased was born in 1895 in Scotland and came to this country as a young man. He retired in 1960 after thirty- six years as an employee of the Illinois Bell Telephone company, working as an installer. He is survived by his widow, Christina; two daughters, Mrs. Locke and Mrs. James Maclure of Crystal Lake; one grandchild; a brother, James, of NOTICE OF SPECIAL TOWN MEETING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the legal voters, residents of the Township of McHenry, and the State of Illinois, that a Special Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday. Paulsen, L'SN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Paulsen of 3102 W. Lincoln avenue, McHenry, graduated Nov. 6 from recruit training at the Naval Training center, San Diego, Calif. He learned basic military law, customs and etiquette, seamanship, and a basic knowledge of shipboard routine. Also included in the training was extensive military drill, first aid, swimming, water survival tactics and physical fitness. 'Messiah" Soloist Crystal Lake and two sisters in Scotland. EMMA SCHULZ Emma Schulz, 82, one of the community's most respected residents, died Dec. 3 in Harvard hospital, where she had been confined for thirty-six hours. Mrs. Schulz, a native of Chicago, was born June 25, 1882. For the past twentysix years the family had made their home at 1914 W. Sunnyside Beach drive, McHenry. She is survived by her husband, Paul; four children, Mrs. Savina Rix, Kenneth and Wesley Schulz of Chicago and Robert of Harvard; seven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. The body rested at the George R. Justen & Son funeral home until 4 o'clock Saturday afternon, when it was taken to the Edward E. Schmidt chapel at 2056-58 W. Belmont avenue, Chicago. Services were held Sunday, with private burial. A cold in the head still causes less pain than a new idea does. ANtiKLA AMIC I When church choir members of Decrfield, III., join to sing "The Messiah" next Sunday evening, Dec. 13, at 8 p.m. in the Presbyterian church of that city, Angela "Dee" Amici of McHenry will be contralo soloist. In the chorus will be former local residents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kissling, and daughter, Becky. The chorus will be composed of about 175 members from several Deerfield churches, to be directed by Norman Gulbransen, a faculty member of Northwestern School of Music. to ' ' i JAMES MARSHALL James H. Marshall, son of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy H. Marshall of 2111 W. Fairview avenue, McHenry, was administered his official oath of enlistment into the United States Marine corps on Nov. 30 under the provisions of the "120 Day Delay Program" which allows him to report for active duty on March 18, 1965. Upon reporting for active duty he will undergo twelve weeks recruit training at San Diego, Calif., followed by four weeks of infantry training at Camp Pendleton, Calif. Private Marshall will then have an opportunity of choosing one of the many technical fields available to him for further education. Marshall enlisted through the U.S. Marine corps sub-station located at Post Office building, Janesville, Wis. Capt. John C. Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Anderson of Rt. 1, Richmond, has received the congratulations and the first award of the Oak Leaf Cluster to the Army Commendation Medal from Colonel I. M. Coleman, chief of staff, during ceremonies at Fort Eustis, Va., Oct. 30. Capt. Anderson received the award for meritorious service while assigned to the U. S. Army Support Command in Vietnam. He is currently a student at the Army Transportation school at Fort Eustis. Anderson entered the Army in 1958. He is a 1953 graduate of Oconomowoc, Wis., high school and received his B. S. degree in 1958 from the University of Wisconsin, based at the Naval Air Statist, Key West, Fla.
