WINS FIRST PLACE WRESTLING TROPHY The past weekend was a glorious one for young Sam Laa monthly news letter for the association. Many of you became acquainted with her when she was our Plaindealer scribe. She is the Sunday school superintendant at the Zion Lutheran church in McHenry. She is a wonderful artist; perhaps many of you can recall the storybook characters that once decorated the barn one time she made special for the children's Christmas party. They were lifesized and beautifully done. Lois majored in art work four years receiving scholarships for two years at the Chicago Art Institute. Right now she is very enthusiastic over her and Jerry's membership in the Lake Regions Sports Car Club. They write the paper "The Checkpoint" together for the club. Lois just recently took part in a race on the ice coming out second over all the participants and winning a first place trophy in the women's division. Al Bianchi beat her by just three seconds! Besides her new interest in racing she likes to bake and to swim. Her mad desire is to have a swimming pool. In spite of all these varied interests and hobbies and caring for her family she squeezes in time for EMPOA holding the office of corresponding secretary and doing a good job at it too.
