An increasing nuipb'er of men are joining the auxiliary woijnen in vqlunteer hospital work. Not only are they bringing comfort and encouragement to the hospital patients whom they visit, but they are finding a new zest* in li(e for themselves. McHenry Unit 491 visits the patients at Downey hospital evrey month on the third Thursday. Rehabilitation Chairman Sandra Lock has a party planned for Jan. 21, and everyone is welcome to go along to hejp cheer the veteran patients. On Jan. 20, Chaiym^n Marie Howe will^ join with other units throughout McHenry county to entertain the patients at Elgin hospital. Robert Koontz of Rockford was clected chairman: Patrick North of Crystal Lake, was elected' vice chairman; and Robert Welsh, Rockford, was elected secretary. The new officers launched a new program which will be cat t ied back to all of the posts throughout Blackhawk Area Council. The new program is entitled "Sports That Last a Lifetime".
