Rasmussen, son of Mrs. Roland Payne of 5210 Nimitz, Wonder Lake, was "Father for a Day" to a Japanese orphan Dec. 19 when the Fijst Marine Aircraft Wing held their annual Christmas party at the Marine Corps Air station, Iwakuni, Japan. As the 666 children arrived, each "father" welcomed his ward and accompanied them to the mess hall, where they received a special Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. Carl Lobitz of Zion Lutheran church officiated at last rites Sunday afternoon in the George R. Justen & Son funeral home for Mrs. Sophie Dolderer, 73, who was pronounced dead upon arrival at McHenfy hospital Thursday night, Jan. 14. Interment was private. Mrs. Dolderer's death was attributed to a heart attack. The deceased was born in Germany Oct. 28,r 1891, and for the past eighteen years had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Carl Springman, and family at 814 River Road, McHenry. Her husband, Wilhelm, died in Germany in 1946. She is survived by her daughter; three granddaughters; two greatgrandchildren and a sister, the latter residing in Germany. ANNA ERICKSON Mrs. Anna Erickson of 133 Venice avenue, Lakemoor, was found diead in bed Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 19. Her death followed a periodf of poor health. /The deceased, 78, was born Oct. 15, 1886, in Sweden. She had resided in the community for about a year. Survivors include her husband, Roy. Wonder Lake Drive, Wonder Lake died Thursday, Jan. 14, at 4 o'clock in the afternoon at Memorial hospital, Woodstock, where he had been a patient for about a week. Mr. Leadley, 55, was born March 30, 1909, in Chicago, where, he operated a messenger service. The family were summer residents here for five years, and for the past, two and one-half years lived here permanently. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude. The body rested at the Peter M. Justen & Son funeral home until 10 o'clock Monday, when a funeral Mass was sung at 10 o'clock at Christ The King Catholic church, Wonder Lake, followed by burial in the church cemetery.1 PROGRAM ON HANDICAPPED On Friday, Jan. 15, the administrative staff and the board of education of McHenry Elementary schools presented a program of interest to professionals, laymen and parents who are involved in the diagnosis and care of the brain damaged child. Guests were welcomed by Mrs; Eleanor Foley, principal and chairman of local arangements, and by Mayor and Mrs. Donald Doherty. The theme of the program was the perceptually handicapped child in our society, as outlined by Bill D. Dial, speech therapist. Adverse weather conditions resulted in the postponement of the keynote address by Mrs. Charles (Lenni) Goldstein of Skokie and the attendance of numerous invited people from various professional specialties from out of the Fox Valley area. ta Claus" made a special appearance and presented each child with a gift.
