Kiwanis Club of Wonder Lake, Meeting January i8, 1965 ^ Joe Sullivan must have a sixth sense about Millie's chicken because he arrived there just in time to enjoy it. ' Don't forget the cookie sale is coming--dates March 18-27. Notes: There wasn't a, heck of a lot of news forthcoming, this past weekend. I think everyone was hibernating--and Who can blame them. It was a good weekend to sit by the fire and worry in case you had anyone unfortunate enough to be out on the highways. Ice, ice everywhere. Much as we all dislike it--one has to admit there is a certain beauty about it too. It is a time when even the lowly weed has its day of beauty wearing its crystalline i^>be. When I looked out about midnight Saturday night the area was still and sparkling in the lights from the buildings on the corner. Every tree, every car, and every house was covered with a sheet of sparkling ice, which glistened in the moonlight. I for one was only too happy to enjoy the view from insidfe a warm bouse^ Pretty as it was--let's hope we; don't have any more of it It's too treacherous to be beautiful^ One thing puzzles me. Where are the birds? I put food out for them two days ago and nary a morsel is gone. Not one bird showed up. I'll settle for a nice patch of green grass and a petunia in bloom--how about you?
