Selections from Hendel's "Messiah" a nd Brahms' "Requiem" will also te featured. Mrs. Peterson has-been a resident of Crystal Lake for many years and during her high school and college days did much solo work in church and in the local community. At Beloit college in Beloit, Wis. Mrs. Peterson was very ictive in music and drama. She appeared with the Beloit College Players in both musical and dramatic productions, and sang in the Beloit vesper choir. She was featured soloist with the men's choral group and appeared in the first I.F.C. variety show in her senior year. She directed her sorority vocal group and did solo work for many off-campus functions. After graduation from Beloit, Mrs. Peterson taught school music near Lima, Ohio, and gave private piano and voice lessons. She also directed both an adult and a children's choir for her church and did solo work in connection with the choirs. Mrs. Peterson and her husband both belonged to the Lima Choral Society which gave a variety of concerts each year. Since returning to Crystal Lake, Mrs. Peterson has taught music and fourth grade in Mc- Henry. At present she gives piano and voice lessons and does' some church solo work in addition to singing with the Northern ill. Choral Association. SIXTY-TWO JOB CORPS CENTERS OFFER SKILLS About 10,000 young people-- ages 16 to 21--will learn new job skills and further their education in sixty-two Job Corps Training Centers. Thirty-six centers in twentytwo states will be operated by the USDA's Forest Service. The other centers will be operated by the Department of the Interior. .. Young men who are 16 to 21 years of age, and out of a job, should get Job Corps material from their high school guidance counsellor or write to job corps, Washington, D. C. 20506. According to the Department of Education, 15 per cent of the youth who enroll as freshmen in McHenry county high schools do not complete their senior year.
