Excellent Musician Rating Among a large number of young people who travelled to Wheeling on Saturday, March 13, were two young people from Holiday Hills. ' ' - Rita Ann Mettelka received an excellent rating in the contest for grade school musicians. Our congratulations to you, Rita, for a fine job. Also to Betsy Haufe who received a good rating in the contest. Dogs! Once again a plea to dog owners to keep their dogs tied up. I know it's easier to just open the door and let them go, but, it's frightening to youngsters, as well as adults, and it is very annoying to have them wandering on your property and destroying valuable evergreens. Mr: Jelinek will be called to pick up strays--don't let your dog be one of the strays. FREUND'S DAIRY. Inc. For a little while it almost seemed like spring. Spring? ? ? Did someone say spring? I'm just sure my calendar must be wrong. It shows that I should be in the third week of March, but it must be the first week in January. How could we be snowed in in March. Those old March winds must be blowing in reverse. Instead of warm spring breezes designed for spring fever, they are blowing back the January snow. Spring may be a little late this year, but I KNOW it Will be appreciated when it arrives. The Institute for Safer Living lists these natural forces which must be controlled through proper car speeds: friction, which helps to hold vehicles to the pavement by tire gripping; centrifugal force, which pulls against a car when swerving or rounding a curve; gravity which pulls a car downhill; impact, which increases in destructive force as the speed of an impacting object, which increases in destructive force as the speed of an impacting object is increased. All, are affected by the speeds at which a car travels.
