According to the Institute for Safer Living, occasional driver failure among drivers who are ordinarily capable and skilled is the cause of the majority of highway accidents. What is driver failure? It includes such leading errors as failure to signal properly, failure to use proper lanes for turns, failure to dim lights, failure to observe a sign or signal, and many others. These are common safe driving practices which the average driver observes nearly always. One failure, however, may get him into a peck of trouble. RIGHT OF WAV The Institute for Safer Living states that many motorists do not have proper respect for. "Yield Right at Way" signs. These signs are becoming increasingly numerous and are found at most throughway approaches. Upon approaching a "Yield" sign, the driver should always give right-of-way to through traffic. A full stop,is not required, but the driver should always be prepared to do so if the traffic condition warrants. The spelling of CAUCAS PARTY as it appears below was filed on the petitions, and therefore must appear that way on the ballots election day. * SPECIMEN BALLOT To be voted at the Township Election, Township of McHenry, County of McHenry, State of Illinois, to be held Tuesday, April 6, 1965. Rescue Squad Calls During that terrific snow storm last week, our Johnsburg rescue squad answered a call in Pistakee Highlands during the early evening hours. A woman driver hit a tree and had to be taken to the McHenry hospital by the squad ambulance for treatment. She was released a short time later. A safety tip from the squad this week has to do with the "big thaw" that will soon be upon us. There will be a lot of snow melting and water will be accumulating in many places. This water will be freezing and thawing with the rise and fall of the thermometer. Keep your sidewalks clear at all times so you are not responsible for someone falling and breaking their bones.
