Girls attending are asked to bring one dish per family to pass. Following supper, the regular meeting will get underway. Installation of the newly elected officers and initiation of new members will be on the agenda at this time. The meeting will end at 7:30 and parents are asked to be there at this time to pickup their daughters. Those officers going into office are asked to be in the community club right after the 9:30 Mass next Sunday for practice. Grandparents Once Again Mr. and Mrs. John Thelen are to be congratulated this week on the arrival of their new grandaughter. Barbara Jean Thelen was born to Vem and "Bunny" of Spring Grove on March 24. The newest member of the Thelen family made her "worldly" appearance at the Sherman hospital in Elgin. This is the eighth child and fourth daughter for the Thelens. The Jake Stoffels of Pistakee Highlands are the maternal grandparents. Our very best wishes to all. Death Claims Country Club Founder At the age of 86 death came to Adolph W. Gast, who passed away in Barrington on March 25. Mr. Gast was one of the five founders of the Chapel Hill Country, Club. Our sympathies are extended to his two daughters, four grandchildren ar^d four great-grandchildren who survive. "Ring Around The Finger" That's just what Bernadette Wegener of Ingl^side has got now. It was put there by Lee Hiller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hiller of Hillcrest Place. The engagement announcement was made recently by her mother, Mrs. Agnes Wegener. The young couple have made no definite plans as yet as" to a wedding date. We all join in wishing them much happiness and hope all their plans turn out just as they hope. Meeting Reminder All members of St. John's court No. 96, C.O.F., are invited to attend the next meeting to be held in the community club hall this Thursday at 8 p.m. At their, recent Communion Sunday and breakfast, about 140 men and juvenile members participated. Blue Ribbon Winner You just couldn't find a happier girl than Linda Lou Palmer this week» Linda, who has never taken any kind of painting instruction, was awarded a blue ribbon for a painting of her horse, Blondie, at the McHenry County Town and Country Fair. This was held last weekend at the Farm Bureau in Woodstock. Sister Dies Our deepest sympathies go to George Hall on the sudden loss of his sister, Mrs. Ruth Laurendeau, of Niles, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Laurendeau were vaca- / tioning in Florida at the time of her death. Mrs. Laurendeau passed away Tuesday, March 30. Our get-well wishes also go to George's mother Mrs. Hall of Niles, Mich. Mrs. Hall became seriously ill on learning of the death of her daughter. Reminder This coming Tuesday, April 13, at the general meeting of the Lilymoor association. Please try to attend the meeting. Wee-one Kimberly Marie weighed in at 7 lbs., 2 ozs. Kimberly is Judy and Robert's first child. Ladies Night Coming Up Again this year, as in the past, the Johnsburg Community Club will play host to all the ladies. The annual ladies night banquet is much looked forward to by the members and their "ladies fair" each year. This year's affair will be held Saturday evening, April 24. If you haven't got your tickets as yet, better do so real soon. Dual Birthday Celebration For Twins The one year old twins, Karen and Mark, children of Phyllis and Wally Kalemba, celebrated their big day with a party last Sunday afternoon. The two youngsters walked around in complete amazement of all that was f going on around them. The twosome were presented with many lovely things to make their first birthday celebration even more exciting. In the Kalemba home for cake and coffee, were the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kalemba, as well as: The Charles Oborny family, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Weiser, Mrs. Carl Ohlrich and family and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Sobie. Blessed Virgin Sodality To Meet The next regular meeting of the Blessed Virgin Sodality will be held in the community club hall on April 13 at 8 p.m. All members are cordially invited to attend. Rescue Squad Notes At 5:30 p.m. on March 30 the members of the Johnsburg Rescue Squad were called to a home on the Bay Road where a resident suffered a respiratory ailment. She was treated on the scene by a local doctor. On April 3 at 5 o'clock in the morning, the squad members were 1 routed from their beds to answer a call on Regner Road. The patient suffered a possible heart attack and was transferred by ambulance to the Woodstock hospital. The same day at 6:30 p.m. a two year old child suffered a choking spell and was taken to the McHenry hospital in the squad ambulance. She was x-rayed and then released. A Sunnyside resident suffered a possible heart attack on April 4 at 11 a.m. He was taken in the rescue squad ambulance to the McHenry hospital. At 4:45 p.m. on the same date, four children ranging in age from one to nine, were partially overcome by catbon monoxide. They were- given oxygen in the rescue squad building, then taken to the McHenry hospital for further treatment. With all tfce calls listed above, the running count took a fast climb to 2,457. Once again the Johnsburg rescue squad would like to warn everyone about the danger of carbon monoxide poisoning. Please pull your car from the garage while letting it warm up. There is no smell to carbon monoxide so you won't notice when you are in trouble until it may be too late. Avert this by following this simple rule. Also, another reminder from the squad has to do with the emergency calls. Please if you need their help, keep your wits and don't panic. The all important number to remember is 385-1130, but if you can't think of this at your time of emergency, just dial for operator. She will be most helpful. Please be sure to give all the important details at this time. Be certain you have given the correct name, address and phone number. Visitors In Our Town Mr. and Mrs. Paul Boyk of Chicago were guests in the Ed. Hettermann 'home last Sunday. Birthday Corner Mr. and Mrs. Jeppe, Jepsen share April as the month of their birth. Mr. Jepsen will turn a "young" 80 on the 15th. while his ever-lovin' spouse turns an even younger 77 on the 28th. We wish them many, many more "Happy Birthdays" in the future. Richard Dehn joins the "39ers" on April 21. Natal greetings to him. Confirmation In St. John's The most Reverend Bishop Loras T. Lane will be here next Saturday afternoon to confirm about 150 school children in St. John's church. Following the 4 o'clock church service, Bishop Lane will bless our Sisters' new convent. He will remain in our parish for dinner and then go on to St. Mary's, McHenry, for their Confirmation service that same evening. EVA FREUND MEN SERVE LADIES BREAKFAST AFTER HOLY COMMUNION Members of the Christian Mothers Society of St. Peter's recgived Holy Communion at the eight o'clock m^sts on Sunday and had breakfast in the school hall after mass. About sixty ladies were present to enjoy the ham and eggs, rolls and coffee served by the men of the parish, members of the Holy Name Society. They are to be commended on their culinary arts. It was delicious. Thursday. Election of officers will be held on that night and all members are urged to attend. Visit Cornell, Wis.
