Witt invites all youths and adults to join his squadron. Hi: Did anyone miss me? I hope so. I'd hate to think that no one even kn^W I'd been away on vacation. I understand I picked a very good time to get away from the weather. Must have been ESP or something to that effect. Anyway I did go and I did have,- a wonderful time. J| left on M.&rch 11 by train and traveled via the El Paso, Tucson, Phoenut route to southern California, I spent five days with my son and daughter-in-law. The weather was ideal and we had a wonderful week together. On March 18, I took the coast daylight train from Los Angeles to Palo Alto. This is a beautiful trip along the ocean--leaving at 9:15 a.m. and arriving at 6:15 p.m. I spent six days in Palo Alto having a perfectly wonderful time. Four days with my bro-. ther and sister-in-law and two days with Delia Cheney, a former Wonder* Lakers Each day was nicer than the one before. Each day we went to.new plac-- es. In fact I went so many places that I felt I had been gone for months instead of two weeks. One can cram, a lot into two weks if it is properly planned. For those who remember Delia I'd like to say that she is fine and hasn't changed one smitch since she left here. She took two days vacation while I was there and we had quite a time. I might add--if you are ever in the Palo Alto area and like Japanese cooking--by all means go to see her. The girl swings a mean chopstick and can put together the best sukiyaki' this side of Tokyo--and on short notiee- to©; She still reads this column every week and wants to know why I don't write about people she knows. So -- will some of you (you should pardon the expression) old timers please give me some news of yourself' so I can oblige her? Thanks. Anyway--it was all very, wonderful and now I suppose I have to settle down and get back to. normal til I get the wanderlust again. Attend Gacden Show in Chicago Six ladies from Wonder Woods attended the annual spring garden and flower show in Chltago recently and reported that everything at the show was more beautiful than ever. This show always takes place at a time during the year when things outside are dull and drab and the contrast when one enters the building where the show is in progress is always breathtaking. It is a real "lifterupper" in the morale department. Several of the ladies brought home Bird of Paradise plants as mementos. Even little children have their serious moments. "What is there to do next?" "Mommy, where did I come from?" Or, "Daddy, is God up in the sky?" Little questions of little children grow into big questions by big people. Sometimes the bigger the man, the more humble the question, and of course ... directed to God. The place for such questions is the Church. In church, ponder the imponderables, ask the old, old questions: receive the gentle answers. Church, too, is God's Home. He's waiting for you there. THE CHURCH FOR ALU* ALL. FOR THE CHURCH The Church la the greatest factor on earth far the building of character and good citizenship. It is a storehouse of spiritual values. Without • strong Church, neither democracy nor civilization can survive. There are four sound reasons why every person should attend aavien regularly and support the Church. They are: (1) For his own sake. (2) For his children's sake. (3) For the Bake of his community and nation. (4) For the sake of the Church itself, which needs his moral and material support Plan to go to church regularly and read your Bible daily. Copyright 1966 Xtisitr Advertising Struct, lite.
