The play will be staged at Marian Central this week, April 2.3, 24 and 25. A special performance for students will be given. John Dunn's eye-witness report of the Selma civil rights march will highlight the Woodstock- McHenry League of Women Voters annual luncheon Tuesday, April 27, at 1 p.m. in the Timbers restaurant. President Jean Thurow will introduce the slate of new board officers. They are Pearl Miyashiro, second vice-president; Mary Ann Mitchell, treasurer; two-year directors, Sandy Becker, Marianne Berman and Pris Melone; one-year director, Barbara Oughton; and Mimi Shuette, Bulletin Editor. Continuing to serve as board directors will be Lorraine Weisz, Catharine Clark, Val Gitlin, Isabel Brody and Beverly Bresnahan. Originally the League of Women Voters was organized to teach women some of the mechanics of voting and election procedures. Over the years the emphasis has shifted to aid and inform all voters. To do this, the Woodstock- McHenry League conducts candidates' meetings; works to get out the vote, conducts community- wide meetings on public issues and offers programs of factual information to other organizations. Bette Smith headed the 1965 nomination committee and Sandy Becker serves as program chairman for the affair. Interested women are invited to attend. TONES Music 11/ !?!.>, .virrienry PJIONE 385,-4646 AUXILIARY TO HOSPITAL HOLDS BOARD MEETING \ On Tuesday, April 13, the regular monthly board meeting of the Woman's Auxiliary to McHenry Hospital was held in the conference room of the hospital. Mrs. John Nolan of McHenry, first vice president of the Woman's Auxiliary, presided in the absence of Mrs. Claude McDermott, president. It was decided to hold the quarterly meeting on Tuesday, May 18. Mrs. Allen Peterson of McHenry will represent the Woman's Auxiliary to McHenry Hospital in the Gjant Hospital fashion show called "Hospitals on Parade." Fashions from a leading Chicago store will be modeled at the show to be held on May 6 at noon at the Conrad Hilton Hotel, Reservations may be made with Charlene Tonyan 3S5-6353. A report was given by Mrs. Russell Weyland concerning the card party and style show which was very successful. The Old Barn Rummage Sale will be held Aug. 20 and 21 at Kngdahl's barn on north Green Street. Please remember while spring house cleaning to save useable articles for this event. STUDENT TEACHER Carol Bruhach, senior speech major at- Eastern Illinois University, is one of 186 Eastern Illinois seniors who are currently student teaching in thirty- five Illinois communities. Miss Brubach is teaching speech at Marshall high school, Marshall, 111. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Brubach, Island Lake. NAME BABY j Kevin John is the name , chosen by. Hopp Infant Is Christened The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hopp was christened Donna Marie in a baptismal rite performed recently at St. Patrick's Catholic church. Rev. Fr. Eugene Paiker officiated at the service. St., Clara's Court Plans" Installation St. Clara's Court, No. 659, Women's Catholic Order of Foresters, will hold installation ceremonies, together with dinner, at the Legion home on April 29 at 6 p.m. Reservations must be made by Monday, April 26, at 10 a.m. Installation practice will take place Monday at 7 p.m., followed by a short business meeting an hour later at the Legion home. Married April -10 Ladies Night At Commutiity Club Members of the Johnsburg Community Club, their families and friends are reminded that next Saturday, April 24, is annual ladies' night, to be held at Memorial hall. Arrangements are in the hands of an experienced comrpittee which promises all attending an evening of fine entertainment. A delicious dinner prepared by the reputable kitchen corrtmittee will be served at 6:30 o'clock, followed by several acts. Following this, a fine dance orchestra has been engaged to fill out the remainder of the evening. The committee has expressed the wish that all guests be punctual to assure the start of the program on schedule. McHenry Hospital Mr. and Mrs. Mark Pedretti of Wonder Lake announce the birth of a daughter April 17. A daughter was born April 17 to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Fischer. Memorial Hospital, Woodstock On April 15 a daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bartos. Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Leman of Wonder Lake are parents of a daughter April 14. A son was born April 16 to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Temple. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Schiller announce the birth of a son April 16. A Wonder Lake couple, Mr. and Mrs. William Cristy, became parents of a daughter April 17. A daughter was bom April 18 to Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Maness. Mr.-and Mrs. Charles Mc- Kinney of McCullom Lake are parents of a daughter born April 19. Harvard Hospital On April 18 Mr. and Mrs. Edward Geiger became parents of a daughter. ARBOR DAY PROGRAM The McHenry Garden Club will present a flowering tree in an Arbor Day ceremony on Friday, April 23, at 10 a.m. at Edgebrook school. Dowell Road, McHenry, became the bride of Mr. Karl-Heinz Lenk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Lenk of 123 Hillside Avenue, Barrington. The couple was attended by Susan Jacobs of Wauconda, cousin of the bride, and Randall Lihs of Norfolk, Neb., friend of the groom while stationed at Andrews Air Force Base. The bride is a 1960 graduate of McHenry high school, attended IBM school in Wauk^ gan and is presently attending Elgin Community Jr. college. Her husband, a former resident of Hamburg, Germany, graduated from Barrington high school and attended the University of Illinois for three years. He is with the Air Force, serving as a computer programmer, and will be stationed in Germany for two years. His wife will follow in a few months. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shafer 4-22-65 PRESENT COMEDY "The Suitor," a 1963 French comedy, will be shown in the International Cinema series at the Woodstock Opera House, Sunday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m. DISTRICT MYF TO HOLD SPRING RALLY IN COUNTY The Elgin district Methodist Youth Fellowship will hold their spring rally in th<e First Methodist Church in Woodstock Sunday, April' 25, from 2 to 6 p.m. Rev. Charles E. Frazier of the First Methodist Church in Evanston will be the. speaker. The theme of the rally will be "Why An M,Y,F,?" Rev. Frazier is minister of education of the First Methodist Church, and he has formerly served as director of youth work for the North Georgia Conference. The local arrangements for the rally at Woodstock will be in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Pinney, Rev. A. Stanley Beck is the host pastor. Officers for the Elfein district Methodist Youth Fellowship will be elected aind installed at this meeting. Gary Lockwood, of the Methodist Youth Fellowship of the Community Methodist Church in McHenry, will be in charge of the closing worship and installation service. Craig Rogers, of the First Methodist Church in Elgin has been the President for this past year. John Stiehl of Barrington has been vice-president, and will chair the rally at Woodstock. DISCUSS FULL YEAR SCHOOL PLAN FOR PTA The McHenry Community PTA will hold its next meeting Thursday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. at the Junior high school. This will be election night as well as the final meeting of the year. The meeting is being called early so that the business portion can take place before 8 p.m., when the program will be started. Mrs. Charles Liebman will discuss the "Full Year School Plan". Because of the interest shown in this topic, the general public is invited to attend and take part in the question and discussion period which will follow the program. Refreshments will be served following the program and discussion period. SUMMER JOBS "National Parks Summer Jobs", O'Hare and Falk Research, is a book at the Mc^ Henry library which is available to students looking for summer jobs. EASTER CANTATA TO BE PRESENTED IN AREA CHURCH "Hallelujah! What A Savior" an Easter Cantata by John Peterson, will be presented next Sunday afternoon, April 24, at 4:30 p.m. at the Chain O'Lakes Evangelical Covenant Church, 4815 North Wilmot Road,^ north of Johnsburg. This Easter Cantata will be presented by the choir of the Mission Covenant Church of Blue Island. III. This choir is under the direction of Jerome Jackson and is well known on the south side of Chicago for musical concerts. The public is invited to share in this afternoon concert. Mrs. Robert Orgler, first vice-president, has asked that members and guests urge their husbands to also attend. Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the program. CHORUS RATING The mixed chorus from McHenry high school received a certificate of merit from the state this week, together with their rating in the recent state contest held for Class A schools at Evergreen Park high school, Chicago.
