There will be a short meeting before they fly their kites and refreshments afterward, so come on parents and join your Cubs in a day of fun. This will take the place of the regular pack night and will be the last one for the season. Brownies The Brownie meeting opened with the pledge to the flag"; and the Brownie pledge. The girls were then asked to give an evaluation of the Mother's Tea and all agreed it was a great success. Cathy Humman and Jo Ann Giadmen. They also go to Marge Franklin who had many stitches around her head and face after her auto and train mishap. We also hope Wally Hanson's dog bito is better. Just heard Theresa Herweg has been recuperating from an operation, hope she is feeling better. My son, John Meurer, had quite a weekend starting with Saturday when he had to have three stitches in his ankle. Then on Sunday he was hit on the head with a stick and had to ha^e two more stitches. We hope you are through for the summer now John. Get-well wishes go to Kay Druml of course, who is now home and recuperating from her surgery, and also to Aggie Prazak who is undergoing tests in McHenry hospital for pains in her chest. We hope it is nothing serious, Agnes. The Stork1 Was Busy The stork has been busy visiting the community this last week, first on Thursday, May 13, when he delivered Michael Kdward to Dorothy and Edward Dargatz at the McHenry hospital. Michael weighed in at 6 lbs. and 14 oz. He has three sisters, Sandy, Diane and Lori. The proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gronn of Xorridge, and Mrs. Dargatz of Buffalo Grove. Congratulations to you all. The Dargatz live at 1415 W. Clearview, Lakeland Park. The following day, on Friday, May 14, a 7 lb., 2 oz. baby boy was delivered to Buzzy and Ronald Miyaki of 4904 W. Bonner Dr. Lakeland Shores. Michael, Douglas, and Linda will call their brother Alan Bruce. Buzzy's mother is out from Chicago to help take care of the children and will stay for a week after Buzzy is home, Our congratulations also goes to former residents Beebe and George Leone on the birth of their 7 lb. 3 oz. little girl whom they call Susan Marie. She was born on May 6. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Borchert and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leone both of Lakeland Lark. Susan has a sister, Debra, and a brother, Michael. - On Saturday, May 22b there will be a work day at the baseball field behind the community house from 8:30 a.m. until they are finished. It is hoped that there will be a lot of men who will come out with their rakes and shovels to help get the field ready for the baseball season. Many hands make light work and if there are enough workers -it shouldn't take too long. («irl Scout Troop No. 320 On May 10 the Girl Scouts received their scout pins and badges. The girls who received them were, Kim Worm, Cathy Humann, Debbie Franklin, Alicia Sweeney, Debbie and Jo Ann Gladman, Debbie Sehabow, Nancy Matthews, Roberta Quast, Barbara Tiffany, Leah Rode, Darlene Licastro, Karen and Patty Rogers, Mary Johnson, Karen and Debbie Foszcz, Patty Arient, Debra Holas and Karen Tomal. We named our different patrols, and Cathy Humann toqk pictures of- them. There were only two mothers who attended the mothers meeting on Wednesday the 12th of May. Delia Julian took first prize and Ruth McMahon and Ann Leigh tied for second. Grace Mandziara's mother, Viola Bull, was visiting here last week and they had a regular "Round Robin" tournament of pinochle games starting at the home of* Edna and Tom Hountras on Tuesday, and continuing at a different house through Friday. Delia Julian, Grace Mandziara and Ann Herzog all served lunch with pinochle being played afterward. Nancy and Donald Fout had a combination Mother's day and birthday celebration Sunday, with Don's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Fout, over tq celebrate three year old Barbara's, birthday which was May 10. On Monday, Barbara's other grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Wohlert, helped celebrate with cake and coffee in the everting. Tuesday morning,. Nancy had a small birthday party for Barbara with cake and ice cream being served to Bobby and Gail Hutt, Pam and Todd Stoltz, Billy and Sandy Wohlert, Jeff Wolf, Ray Roach and Barbara's 2 year old sister Susan. We want to wish the very best of everything to Joan and Herb Kane and their children on their move to St. Louis, Mo. They resided at 1703 N. Meadowlane. John Hickey is home from school for awhile and is working until next semester when he will again return to school. Our congratulations to Beth Okal who received a first place ribbon for her trumpet playing at the contest at Lockport on May 1. Johnny Bierman celebrated his sixth birthday on the 14th of May with Bobby Miller,'David Wilkens, Jeff Connor, Chris and Mark Rogers, Michafel Burman, and his brothers, Ricky and Jeffery, and his sister, Veronica, all joining in the celebration. On Saturday evening, Johnny celebrated his birthday with his Grandpa and Grandma Leopold and Grandpa and Grandma Bierman, his Aunt Marian and future Uncle Howard, and his Uncle Joe, and Aunt Joyce and cousin Joey Leopold all coming out for supper, and birthday cake. Donald Glorch celebrated his eighth birthday at a turkey dinner Sunday given by his dad and his aunt Claudette Glorch in Streamwood, with his four cousins Gorden, Gail, Kurt, and Christine, singing the birthday song for him. I understand he had quite a time blowing out his candles as they had those trick ones on his cake. His Grandma Glorch was also there to add her birthday wishes. Donald's day was made complete when his Dad presented him with a new bicycle. On Saturday, Donald along with his brother, Larry, and David Wiekenkamp were treated by hia mother to lunch and then taken roller skating. Arlene and Frank Bartos had their daughter, Jill Mariel, christened at St. Patrick's church Suftday afternoon by Father Parker. Jill's Godmother is Dorothy Derezynski, and her Godfather is Joseph Mensik both from Chicago.
