Five recently organized Republican Women's Clubs were presented for the board's approval by Mrs. Davis and were granted charters. During the two day conference the ladies heard addresses by Senator Hudson Sours, Senator Russell Arlington, Thomas Morsch (of Republican Workshops) and Rep. C. L. McCor* mack. They also toured the Capital. Lincoln's home, attended committee hearings and conferred with Mr. Dees, assistant tq the Superintendent of Public Instruction, Ray Page. Mrs- Orgler received a silver honor roll award on behalf of the McHenry Township Club. This is the second year that the award has been earned by the local club. Mrs. Davis received a gold honor award, acting as a representative of the Tri-County Republican Club (of which Mr. Davis is president). The ladies are anticipating the next conference, scheduled for Sept. 23 and 24 in Chicago, for it will mark the silver anniversary of the Illinois Federation of Republican Women. Patricia Hamil Becomes Bride A pretty wedding was solemnized at St. Mary's Catholic church, McHenry, on Saturday, May 29, whenf^Iiss Patricia Ann Hamil became the bride of Mr. Thomas David Bitterman. MisS Hamil is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs. William Hamil of 3002 W. Maryville Drive, McHenry, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bitterman of 336 N. Rosedale Avenue, McHenry. Rev. Fr. Matthew Rudden officiated at the 11:30 o'clock nuptial rite. The church altars were decorated with bouquets of yellow and white flowers. The lovely young bride chose a peau de soie dress with scalloped neckline of applique; pearls and sequins, long* sleeves and a bow at the waist in back. The skirt, fell into a long train. Her crown of pearls and lace held in place an illusion veil. Her jewelry , was a diamond pendant belonging to her grandmother, Mrs. Marie Fortln. Attending the bride were Mrs. Carol Zank, Mrs. Donna Casey, Miss Bonnie Schiller and Miss Susan Bitterman of McHenry; also Miss Jacquelin Bitterman as junior bridesmaid. They wore mint green dresses in taffeta, with short sleeves, round necklines and cummerbunds on the fitted bodices. The skirts featured trains. All wore fresh daisies in a circle effect as headpieces and carried yellow and white daisies. They wore necklaces of chains and pearls, and had laCe' gloves, all gifts of the bride. Julie Bitterman and Laura Bitterman of McHenry were flower girls, each carrying a basket of yellow and white daisies. The groom was attended by Richard Bitterman, Michael Hamil, David Zank and Robert Wiles of McHenry. Michael Haggenjos was ring bearer. Mrs. Hamil selected a blue, •two-piece dress with which she wore blue shoes and had a white. laCe purse and gloves. Mrs. Bitterman wore a twopiece dress with beige shoes and green purse and gloves. A wedding breakfast was served at the V.F.W. clubhouse at 1 o'clock for thirtyfive guests. Later, 350 friends and relatives gathered there for a reception. Gruenfeld,, with twelve members and one guest, Mrs. Herbert Rothering, present. Members are reminded that the Crystal Lake Garden Club is presenting their show June 18, 19 and 20, and while we jiave declined to enter a* formal table we have indicated interest in entering open classes. In the open classes, Mrs. Comes entered in the Cacti section an 18-year old. plant, and received one of the coveted blue ribbons. Mrs. Charles Wagner entered two varieties of cotoneaster and received one blue and one red ribbon. This is setting the club off to a wonderful start for the new year. On June 29 the meeting will be a trip to Hales Corners, Wis., for a picnic lunch with a meeting on the grounds of the park. Weller, University of Illinois Coilege of Fine and Applied Arts, spoke at a banquet following initiation ceremonies at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 27, in Illini Union Illini room. Dean Weller, who is president of the Illinois Gamma chapter, discussed "The Image of Man in Contemporary Art." Membership at Illinois is based on a 4.5 grade-point average for second; semester and graduating seniors; 4.6 for first semester seniors; and 4.75 for second semester juniors, all on a five-point system (5.0 equals straight A). The luncheon affair was held last week, when more than 100 members enjoyed a fashion show and welcomed news that the famed Holiday Hospitality Day will be renewed in 1965. The event is an opportunity for visitors to gain an intimate glimpse of some of the county's MISS FRISBY IS MARRIED TO LOMBARD MAN Miss Patricia Margaret Frisby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Weston J. Frisby of 4217 N. Wilmot Road, McHenry, exchanged nuptial vows with Mr. Darel H. Forest in a lovely double ring ceremony performed at St. John the Baptist Catholic church Saturday, May 29. The bridegroom is the son of the senior Darel Forests of 641 S. Lombard Avenue, Lombard. Rev. John Dording officiated at the 11:30 o'clock Mass, for which the church was decorated with altar bouquets of white glads and pink roses. The children's choir sang "Ave Maria" and "On This Day O Beautiful Mother", Pretty Miss Fnsoy walked down the aisle wearing a peau de soie sheath dress styled with scoop neckline, lace bodice, long sleeves and lace medallions on the front of her skirt, which extended into a cathedral train. Her threetiered bouffant veil fell from a lace medallion crown embroidered with pearls and aurora borealis and she carried a cascade bouquet of white and pink roses centered '- with a white orchid. Her jewelry was a cross with diamond center. As the choir sang, Miss Frisby placed a bouquet of pink roses and glads on the altar of the Blessed Virgin. Attending her as matron of honor was Mrs. Walter Berg of McHenry and bridesmaids were Cathryn Murray of Northbrook, her cousin, and Maggi and Mary Frisby, her twin sisters. Junior bridesmaids were Nancy Forest of Maywood, niece of the groom, and Donna Frisby, sister of the bride. All were attired similarly in floor length sheaths of pink crepe, with detachable lace trains and matching bow headpieces with bouffant veils. They carried pink roses in sheath arm bouquets. William Forest of Maywood served his brother as best man and groomsmen were William Gollisi of Maywood, Robert Rizzo of Johnsburg and James Frisby, the bride's brother who is home on leave from Travis Air Force Base, Calif. Ushers were Charles Olson of Barrington and James Daly of Johnsburg. Mrs. Frisby ware a blue sheath dress with matching accessories and a white orchid corsage. Mrs. Forest chose a similar sheath with matching accessories and orchid corsage. A reception immediately followed the ceremony, with a buffet served at 1:30 at the Johnsburg Community Club. Later, 250 guests gathered at the Johnsburg Community club for a reception. Following a two-week trip to Las Vegas, the couple will make their home in Lombard. The bride graduated in 1961 from McHenry high school and was employed as secretary for Insurance of North America, Chicago. The president tmd vice-president are specified but the third woman was not specified. Mrs. George Kunzer was chairman for the successful luncheon event. Mrs. Frame reported the auxiliary has given the following equipment to Memorial hospital since the last report: Circoleetric bed, croupe tent for infants, and surgical dental equipment. The auxiliary has a balance in its bank accounts of $36,- 526. Its purpose is to make the patients' stay more comfortable and to raise money for the hospital. In this it has been most successful, giving more than $250,- 000 to the hospital since the auxiliary was founded in 1946.
