Spring road, McCulom Lake, was recognized for her academic achievements at the recent Honors Day recognition service at Mae-Murray college, as one of three freshmen attaining a straight "A" average for one semester. Miss Levesque completed her freshman year at MacMurray this spring. She is a 1961 graduate of McHenry high school, where she was active in the National Honor society and held offices in various school organizations. She was an Illinois State Scholarship winner. WSCS TO HOLD RUMMAGE SALE IN MID-JULY The annual rummage sale sponsored by McHenry's Community Methodist church is scheduled for July 16 and IT and will bo held at the Engdahl barn. 508 N. Green Street, from 8 a.m. to <S p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to A p.m. Saturday. Featured will be household furnishings, appliances, clothing, miscellaneous items anil even some antiques. Coffee, soft drinks and light refreshments will be sold. Committee members, hard at work on preparations, say there is s-till time to search attics and storage rooms, to clean out closets and bring in those things for which the owner has no use but someone else might want. The complete proceeds of the sale, for which a goal of $1,500 has been set. will go to help pay off the church mortgage. She became the bride of Mr. James G. Militello, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James Militello, Sr., of Rt. 2, Terra Cotta Road, Crystal Lake, in a Ipyely ceremony solemnized in St. Mary's Catholic church. Rev. Fr. Eugene C. Baumh'- fer officiated at the 11:30 o'clock nuptial rite,' for which the children's choir sang. The altar was decorated with bouquets of yellow glads and white nia.jectic daisies, and the pews were marked with ribbons. Given in marriage by her father, Miss Tonyan approached the altar wearing a floor length sata peau gown with elbow length sleeves and mexlified empire waist, the beidice trimmed in aleneon lace and seed pearls. Aleneon" lace also trimmed the bottom of the A-line skirt and a bow a,t the back of the waist held in place the detachable full train. Her headpiece was a circular band of aleneon lace and seed pearls which held in place a three-tier silk illusion veil. She carried four large white orchids with yellow, lily of the valley and stephanotis. Her bouquet for the Blessed Virgin altar consistedof white daisies. Mrs. Girard Zimmerman acted as matron of honor for her sister, and bridesmaids were Carol Jean Anderson and Miriam Gies of McHenry and De>nna Frett of Johnsburg, the latter a cousin of the bride. They were attired in maize-colored, silk shantung, floor length Aline gowns, fashioned with elbow length sleeves, mexlified empire waistlines and paneled trains. Their headpieces were clusters of white daisies accented with maize bows and cloud veils. They carried circular bouquets of white daisies. Jane Zimmerman of McHenry, niece and godchild of the bride, was the pretty flower girl. She wore a dress and headpiece styled similar to the1 bridesmaids and carried a white basket filled with daisies. The basket was one used by the bride as a flower girl in the wedding .of her sister, Mrs. Girard Zimmennan. Geraild Michalski of Mequon. Wis., served as best man and Richard Smith. Jr., of McHenry, Ronald Tonyan of McHenry, brother of the bride, and Kenneth Kuznicki of Des- Plaines, the groom's cousin, were groomsmen. The groom graduated in 1961 from Notre Dame high school for boys in Niles and received his bachelor of science degree i business administration at Mi quette university, Milwaukee, in 1965. ' o CLASS OF 1925 RECALLS GOOD OLD MCHS DAYS Eleven members of the 1925 McHenry Community high schexyl graduating class and their spouses gathered Sunday at the McHenry n^Cintry Club for their fortieth anniversary celebration. Two of the original class ot seventeen passed--to their great reward just at graduation time, anel since then the remaining fifteen have come through virtually unscathed except for the ravages of time, more apparent class members report, to others than to the celebrants who all agreed that but little change was apparent, Led by their senior class president. Dr. William A. Nye. the other members of the class of '25 who attended were, Fefri Bacon Mitchell, Floribel Bassett Vogei, Lillian Buss Mc- Knight, Marjory E. Whiting, Elizabeth Vogt Johnson, Olive Vasey May, Gus Freund, John W. Smith, Bernard H. Freund and Haroid J. Bacon. Many old time recollections were bandied abemt, helped by the vivid memories of C. H. Duker. their superintendent: Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Stringer, of Rockford (he was their co^teh and instructori and Mrs Mabel Peterson Davis, freshman English teacher, who came from Maywood with her husband. Betty Vogt Johnson from Portland, Oregon, came the greatest distance but readily admitted it was .worth every ounce of effort, as did Marjorie Whiting, recently discharged from the hospital. Other members of the class who found it impossible to attend were Dorothy Mathews Buchert, Angela Petesch, Marjorie Phalin Mahoney and Ella I-Iarrison Thomas. This wa>. the first class to graduate from the "new" high school, the original part of the present, building, after spending three years at what is now Landmark, where they occupied the present grade school plus the annex, which was later sold and served Grayslake both as a church and later as a school. Each pledged a willingness to attend another reunion ten years hence .for their golden anniversary party. -- RECOVERS FROM INJURIES William Thornton, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Thornton of 7417 State Park Road, was released Friday from McHenry hospital, where he was treated for injuries suffered when his bicycle was struck by a car last week near Spring Grove. Mrs. Elvera Pelletiere of Lake Villa told authorities she passed two other bicyclists and was about to do the same with the Thornton boy when he pulled across in front of her car.
