You'd better be because with all the entertaining things they plan to have --you'll be sorry if you don't. This is Wonder Lakes big annual event and is always wfell attended and lots of fun. Of course the big event of the weekend, is the Miss Wonder Lake contest. Be sure to be there to cheer for your choice. Last year's winner, Ronee Sommcrs, will crown the new queen. -Ronee is . competing this year for the Miss Mc- Henry County title. Naturally we feel that effervescent personality will again charm the judges the same as it did last • year. Good luck, Ronee, and .bring that trophy back to Wonder Lake. The Miss Wonder Lake contest will be hold Saturday evening. Plenty of tables and chairs will be provided so mom, pop, grandma and grailfdpa can watch in comfort. The women's auxiliary will handle the kitchcn. Good food at. fair prices. Plenty of games for the youngslers with a prize for each one. Also pony .rides. The now ambulance- and rescue truck will be on display. Pete P.endle will be on. hand to collcct for the annual fire stickers. Wonder View News The monthly meeting of the Wonen's auxiliary was hel:i at Ethel Moore's home. By-laws were reviewed and brought up to date. It was decided to have a rummage and bake sale on Aug. 6 and 7. Donations would be appreciated, things will be sold on a consignment basis. For more information call 3-4765, 3-6416, or 3-4741. Hostess Ethel served coffee cake, coconut cake with coffee. Vi Uorta's mother was a visitor. The next meeting will be held at Severin Lodewvek home. George Smith was a recer.i visitor back home in ihe subdivision the July 3 weekend. George is still dooing counter-intelligence work and is stationed in Battle Creek. Mich. Boating, swim ming, badminton, shuffle board contests all going at the same time. For the privileged few, Master Cook Sullivan saved some of his precious "Mooseburger" steaks. The July 19 meeting program was on the conservation school. July 21 was the annual division play day at the McHenry Country Club. The McHenry Kiwanians co-sponsored the division play day with the Wonder Lake club. fJirl Seouts Plan House And Ciarden Show Our Girl Scouts are planning what they hope will become an annual affair. , On August 27 and 2.8 they plan to sponsor, a House and Garden Walk. Four families in the area will open their homes and gardens to the public for a tour to be conducted by the Scouts. During the tours the girls will also have a • bake sale and several items of-interest to make the affair worth your .while. We have many organizations hero in town who have news to report i.e. Subdivision Associations, Yacht Club, Firemen. American Legion, Little League, PTA, Church Organizations, Social Clubs, Harrison School Activities, etc. All of ihesc organizations have news items that would be of interest to readers. I want, to make your Wonder Lake column a section that everyone likes to lead but I can't do it without your cooperation. Members of the Ringwood team were; John Hogan, Jerry Hogan, Charlie .Sowers, Clarence Adams, Ed Skid mure and Bill Huff. The Genoa City All Stars defeated the Woodstock All Stars bv a score of. 14 to 4 in a 9 inning game. Ringwood was well represented by players and spectators as well. On Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kunz Went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Kunz at Eastwood Manor to help little Robert Lawrence Kunz celebrate his first birthday. Ben Walkington is coming along nicely after spending several days in the hospital at Woodstock last week. It's birthday wishes on Julv 25 for Mike Hogan (Sr.), Mrs. Laren Harrison and Roy Dodd. Mrs. J. C. Pearson celebrates her natal day on Monday, the 26th. On the 28th, it's happy birthday t6 Mrs. Paul Walkington. Don't forget to help our little leaguers by donating whatever you can.
