July 22, 1965) COURT BRIEFS In Branch III court July 15, Magistrate Kauffman fined John T. Nitka of Rt. 9, McHenry, $15 and $5 costs for failure to transfer registration on buying a car. Jane C. Brantley of Richmond was charged with improper backing and fined $10 and $5 costs. Mary S. K. Brecheen of Genoa City received a $22 fine and $5 costs for a speeding charge in Richmond. Thomas C. McGrath of Round Lake was charged with improper left turn and leaving the scene of a minor accident. His fine was $30 and $10 costs. An indecent conduct charge in connection with public intoxication was made against John L. Juranko of Lilymoor, who received an $80 fine and $30 costs. The case of William P. Schuerr of Lilymoor was continued until July 29 for testimony from an additional witness. He had previously pleaded not guilty to a charge of violating a city ordinance for unnecessary noise and discharging fireworks. A part of the testimony was heard in court last Thursday. William Herz of 2615 For-, restwood Drive, McHenry, was fined $10 and $5 costs for not having a driver's license on his person. Two other charges were continued until Aug. 12. Conner, live in Spring Grove, was assigned to the 2d Armored Cavalry Regiment in Germany recently. Conner, a construction specialist in the regiment's 84th Engineer Company, entered the Army in December, 1964. U. S. FORCES. KOREA (AHTNC) -- Army PFC. Michael A. Stueben, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Stueben, 3916 W. Main street, McHenry, was assigned to the 4th U. S. Army Missile Command in Korea, June 23. Stueben, a photographer in the command's 226th Signal Company, entered the Army in October 1963, received basic training at Fort Knox, - Ky., and was last stationed at Fort Monmouth, N. J. The 20-year-old soldier is a 1963 graduate of McHenry Community High School. Airman John H. Eberle, Jr., USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Eberle, Sr., of 7405 South St., Wonder Lake, is serving aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard, presently operating with the U. S. Seventh Fleet off the coast of Viet Nam. Recently Navy aircraft from the attack carriers Bon Homme Richard and Oriskany flew 129 sorties against Viet Cong military concentrations, dropping approximately 100 tons of bombs and rockets. The planes destroyed or damaged more than 100 buildings. Target included a Viet Cong battalion headquarters, storage are;'., radio staion and a communist fortification. First Lt. Carl Walker, U.S.M.C., is serving with the 3rd engineer battalion, stationed at Da Nang in South Viet Nam. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Walker of Wonder Lake. Cadet McCormack will be given advanced trailing in the military subjects he has been studying at Marquette university, Milwaukee, Wis., under the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). Cadet McCormack was graduated from McHenry Community high school in 1961 and from Marquette university this year. He is a member of Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity^ Aviation Anti -t Submarine Warfare Technician Airman Roger A. Jurack, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A.'Jyrack of 3908 W. W. Ave., McHenry, is serving with Patrol Squadron 30 at the Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Fla. The squadron is the Atlantic Fleet's Combat Replacement Air Group with the mission of training pilots, navigators, aircrewmen and maintenance personnel in the complex techniques of advanced anti-submarine warfare. Jurack attended Loras College at Dubuque, Iowa. Airman James W. Woods, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Woods, of 2808 W. Kashmiri, McHenry, was graduated July 1 from the Aviation Machinist Mate Reciprocating School at the Naval Air Technical Training Center, Memphis, Tenn. Before attending this school, he was graduated from the two-week Aviation Familiarnization and the four-week Mechanical Fundamentals courses. Army Specialist Four Nicola E. Pintozzi, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pintozzi, 4913 Home ave., McHenry, was assigned to Headquarters, Taunus District in Germany, J&ly 2. Pintozzi, an information specialist in the headquarters, entered the Army in October, 1963, and completed basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky. ' r Th£ 22-year-old soldier is a 1961 graduate of McHenry Community high school and attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Mr. and Mrs. Harry R. Hansen of 3719 Freund Avenue, McHenry, spent an enjoyable weekend with their son, Bill, at Norfolk, Va. Bill is stationed. on the U.S.S. Enterprise and is secretary'to .'the.captain. The Hansens were escorted on a complete lour of the Enterprise, which is a cily in itself, and had coffee on the captain's bridge. Bill- was awarded the title "outstanding man of the month of the U.S.S. Enterprise" for the month of June and received a 850 savings bond.
