August 12, 1985' CUB SCOUTS NEED LEADER FOR FALL SCHEDULE It won't be long now before we begin our fall activities and we are in need of some loaders. Our Cubmaster, Hob Matthews, has had to resign and unless someone comes forward and volunteers, we will no longer be able to have a Cub Pack. It vWjjuld be a shame after all the hard work Bob and Kd Druml put into this troop to get it started that it would have to fall to the wayside for lack Of a leader. Call Mr. Matthews at 385-6042 if interest oil. All Star <James Last Monday our AH , Star team went to Lake Zurich- to play their All Star team losing 8_ to 0. On Wednesday, Lake" Zurich met our team in Mc- Henry at the VKW where we won 9 to 8 in the team's'- first game under the lights. On Sunday, our team travelled to Wonder Lake where they really hit for a 11 to 1 victory. Tonight, Thursday, August 12. we play at Round Lake at 6 and, on Saturday, August 14 McCullom Lake will be here for a game at 1 p.m. On Sunday, August 15 at 1 :.'*() p.m don't forget the All Stars will play the managers and coaches and then the mothers will play against their sons. On Sunday. August 22 Wonder Lake will play a return match here, time will be announced next week. We hope you have all marked your calendar for Sept. 11 when the Little League will hold their annual dance. Tickets can be obtained from the managers and coaches or from Max Koch. This is their money making project for the year. Best Wishes are extended belatedly to Pammy Mullen who celebrated on the fifth by reaching age 5. Todd Stoltz will be 5, Chris Rogers, 7, and Randy Fergen, 3, all share the 12th. Jimmy Oeffling will be 14 on the 13th, Denice Bueard and George Hendle also celebrate on that day. Gloria Flannigan and Jerry Rogers both admit to another candle on the 14th. Rosie Grey will be 7 and that very lovable Margie Becker reaches that very active age of 3 on the 15th. Maiy, Ray and the Baric children just returned from a 1400 mile trip through the state of Wisconsin. It was the family's first attempt at camping and they all hated to see it come to an end. Dorot hy and their at Starved Rock joined on Saturday I.il and Mike Strolling Through The Park Stan Pankowicz joined Robbie Revak and -his- parents -and sister on a vacation in northern Wisconsin for 10 days at Robbies uncle Ed's farm. The two boys stayed by themselves in a trailer where they had a well stocked refrigerator and all the comforts of home. They did lots ol fishing, and Stash came up with a 14 inch Northern Pike. Mary and Joseph Lanz spent their vacation at several places, first visiting their son, Donald. and family in Chicago, and then spending five days at Mary's mother's. Jewel Hickman. in Central City, Ky„ and then going to Indianapolis. and Rudv I.ense family have also been on vacation. They spent their time visiting Hawthorn Melody, Lake Geneva and many other spots. Mary and Jim Daui'o were very glad they enlarged their home. This weekend Mary's brother, Marly Cahill. his wife. Ruth Ann. and their four youngsters came down from Marinette, Wis., to spend the weekend and part -of the week. Rose and Kd Oswald ventured to Turtle Lake. Wis., on Saturday and on Sunday they went into Kvanston to visil with Rose's sister for her birthday. Dot tie, Irv and the Becker children spent Saturday evening at the County Fair. A group of dancers, of which their daughter, Kathie. and Wendy Dralle are members, took part in the talent show. The group came in fifth place and we'll? all real proud of them. The Ron Funk home was bulging at the beams on Sunday. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins all were out to help Terry and Doug celebrate their birthdays which are just a few days apart. The Brave major league team was treated to a party on Thursday evening. The manager and coaches of the minor league team, their wives and children were also in attendance. The affair was held at the home of manager, Jim Daurio, with N'orb Kwiatek and his wife. Murph. Frank and Arlene Bar.tos all helping. Former Brave manager, Irv Becker, and his wife.
