Staying with the Pritchards are Grandmother and Grandfather Sillitti. Mr. and Mrs. Sillitti are from Chicago. Baptized Sunday was a happy day for the George' M e c k o family. Grandson Mark John -was baptized at St. Fidei's church in Chicago: After the ceremony all relatives and friends gathered at Mrs. Mary Klimecko's home, maternal grandmother, and all enjoyed a. delicious feast. George and Mary have two other grandchildren, Veronica and Cathy, sisters of Mark John. Their father, George J. Mecko, has just finished his 4 years in the air force as Airman First Class, and is now home to stay. Parkers Went Fishln' The Parkers spent one full week in beautiful Lac du Flambeau, Wis. They had a wonderful time swimming and fishing and just plain taking it easy. I heard that the fishing wasn't as good as was expected but despite tjlat fact Mr. Parker caught a inch Muskie. How about that?x The family also took in a water ski show in Minacqua. So a good time was had by the whole family, and their vacation is now a pleasant memory. Terrace Service Man Kenny F r o e h 1 i g recently spent , 15 wonderful days at home, only to return to his home base at Fort Benning, Ga., to learn that- he is to be sent to Viet Nam. Ken was given a 5 day furlough before going overseas. He is with the First Cavalry Air Mobile Divi- HOLIDAY HILLS NEWS INEZ YOUNG 885-4672 Old Fashioned Picnic Sunday Next Sunday, Aug. 29, is the big day for the 'Old Fashioned Picnic' held by the Holiday Hills Property Owners Association. The purpose of the picnic is to provide fun for one and all, young and old, mom, dad, sister, brother, grandma and grandpa. There will be games, races, prizes, refreshments and something exciting going on all day, from 12 noon until 7 p.m. Just take Sunset Drive all the way down to the River and follow Riverside Drive right down to the picnic. See you there!?! Sympathy Our deepest sympathy is ex tended to Dorothv Anderson on the loss of her mother, Linnea D. Carlstrom, Thursday, Aug. 12. 81 years of age, she had been ill for some time and died •in Woodstock. She lived here in Holiday Hills with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Anderson and family. The wife of the late Carl F. Carlstrom, she leaves just one daughter, Dorothy and three and Barbara. Debra's Cook-Out, P-J Party Friday the 13th was not an unlucky day for Debra Slot tag whose birthday was that day. And the very next two days were pretty nice too because on Saturday she had a cook-out, f o l l o w e d b y a p a j a m a p a r t y with Patty Emerson, Donna Caulfield, Rosemary Foreman, Sharon Filips, Debra Smith and of course her brother, Billy. A Dogs' Life Lavern, Carolyn, and Keith Mierzwa's plans for a day at Lake Michigan, frolicking in and out of the big waves went asunder with all the rain Wednesday. Nevertheless the day was well spent in the city, shopping for clothes and visiting Grandma Mierzwa. On the way home from Chicago they stopped-* off in Roselle to pick up'their "Horse Guests" for the following week. No it's not a misprint...Lavern is dog sitting with her brother's Great Dane while he is on vacation in Michigan. The ride home was interesting and crowded especially when a certain passenger decided to turn around for a more comfortable position. JOHRSBVRG NEWS BETTY HETTERMANN 885-1290 LADY FORESTERS HONOR MEMBER OF FIFTY YEARS Mrs. Lucv Domino of Rockford, High Chief Ranger of the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters, attended the meeting of St. Agatha Court No. 777 last Tuesday evening. The purpose of her attendance was to present Mrs. Margaret (William) Meyers with a fifty year membership pin. Mrs. Meyers joined the W.C.O.F. in McHenry as a member of St. Clara court No. 659 in August, 1915. When St. Agatha court was instituted in February, 1918, she transferred and is one of the twelve surviving charter members. Most of her fifty .years, of membership have been spent as a very active "Lady Forester", including several terms as an officer of the court. Sincere congratulations to her. Jeannie Jo and Susan Benoche are spending one week in Chicago at the home of their aunt, Ruth Stopar. Jim Deppmier treated Brad and Brent, his twin sons, to a memorable day in an amusement park. Father Daniel Curtin, C.S.C., master of novices at the Minnesota institution; invested the young men in the habit as they begin a year's intensive study and practice of the principles of the religious life. Forty-four were aspirants for the priesthood in the Indiana Province of the Holy Cross Fathers and two were Brotherhood candidates: At the same place, on the foj lowing day, Aug.' 16, 19 novices, having finished their year's training, pronounced temporary vows of poverty, chastity and obedience.
