Date Set The day-long trip to a laboratory will take place on Sept. 22 with the bus leaving in the early morning. This trip is open to any woman wishing to take advantage of the opportunity to go: she need not he a resident of the Estates. Contact this reporter or Irene May and have your bus fare -- which is the only expenditure of the day -- paid by Sept. 20. Tee Topics Our golfers are approaching the last week of their tournament with extreme cases of tension and nervousness. (-- and all this time we've been thinking they played for peace of mind and relaxation!) Team Four, Don Fail and Bill Pritchard, are still in first place, but only by a margin of one point. Team One, Harold Palmer atid favorite husband, Jerome, after six straight victories, are the challengers and the schedule has these two teams meeting in the last match!! To the victors go the spoils: i.e., trophies! Team two, Jim Farley and Mel Simmons, have finally found themselves and are now only one point out of third place, now occupied by team three, Art Herman and Carl Salaz. The victors in this match will have third place all to themselves. Highlights of last week's action was an eagle (2) by Carl Salaz on the thirteenth hole! Cal's six-iron shot. traveled approximately 150 yards to give him his first eagle. When told by his opponent that the ball dropped into the cup, Carl laughed and said he can't even see that far! -- in all fairness to Carl, we're sure it was the darkness and not poor eyesight. -- Unfortunately, the eagle was not enough to win the match for team three. With all the talking, practicing, etc..., you'd think the men were going on T.V., complete yvith fairway galleries! Maybe we should compliment their enthusiasm and send the kids out to watch their daddies "relax" on the last big day!! Good luck all! girls. Introducing: ...the Shrader family: Diane and Jerry and little Rhonda Kay who arrived two months ago to complete their little family circle. Diane and Jerry moved into Mrs. Emma Olson's home on Mayfair Drive about four months ago, coming from Cleveland Circle in McHenry, and from Harvard before that. Jerry is employed in Grayslake, where he is the foreman of a relay corporation. so generally speaking, the Shraders are bread-and-board residents of this lakes area. Diane's time is now being monopolized by little Rhonda who is making her niche in the family, and Jerry enjoys fishing and hunting when time permits. Here's hoping the Estates suits you just fine for a long time. Vandals Kemove Letters From Signs The letters from the signs at the. entrance of our subdivision have again been removed. This has happened numerous times, with the letters missing sometimes and letters switched around at other times. Some of the letters haVe at times been found down River Road, others have been broken and some disappear completely. Hank Haufe, who has made these attractive signs, has to cut these letters out, paint them with a special paint and replace them everytime the vandals strike. These signs do a great deal to beautify the entrance of our subdivision, which for many years had no identification at all. The sheriff has been ncftified, .won't you all help by keeping an eye out so that these vandals are caught? COAL MINED Coal production from 64 Illinois mines totaled 3,626- 196 tons in July, L.
