Wetherhult, A Bennett, H. Berry, H. Bieritz, W. Cleveland, and F. Dodge are slated to give the final touches to the area. It seems like a long way until next spring but no doubt we will all be happy to welcome it after a long winter. Anniversaries On the 20th Matthew (Sam) and Julia Zeimet will be celebrating their thirty-fifth anniversary. On the twenty-first Ronald and Beverly Verstege will have their eighth and on the 23rd Tom and Pat Burke will add another year. Besit wishes for continued happiness to all our couples who will be looking forward to another year together. Meet the Jonases Audrey Whitney has welcomed Theresa and Royal Jonas who are living in the former Siers house and come from Edison Park. We had the pleasure of being introduced to them at our last meeting and they are enjoying the water and beach facilities. We wish them good luck and hope they will be very happy in their new home. Meeting At The Beach The September meeting of the McHenry Shores club was held at the beach in the hope that more of the members would attend. Roberta Mieritz was in charge since our president Dale Jenner was unable to be present. Despite the fact that it got dark before we got started and the hungry mosquitos were out we managed to get through the reading of the reports. Next month we will be back in the VFW hall so plan on joining us. Report On Water It seems every once in a while rumors are started about our drinking water being bad. Samples have been taken from different homes in the area and tested and we are happy to tell you that they were all found to check out O.K. Anyone wishing to see these reports may do so, Mr Miller has them. Horeshoe Tournament The Sac club is holding its annual horseshoe tournament on the 18th at the baseball diamond. All men in the Shores are invited to participate. Sorry we have been unable to find out the time so call one of the boys if you are interested. Bits of News Bill and Ing Corcoran drove up to Detroit for a few days last week and brought Ing's sister,. Mrs. John Moore, back with them for a week's stay up here. Julie and Sam Zeimet went fishing in Lake Wisconsin one of the days over the Labor Day holiday and came back with no fish, not even a nibble but had a nice trip and rest anyhow. F or m e r resident Helen Smith has gone back to Cali fornia after some weeks of visiting with her friends and neighbors in the Shores. Marshall and Lu Jacobs spent the weekend in Milwaukee where they took in several shows and enjoyed the change of scenery. Lola and George Darmody went to Chicago over the holiday and on Tuesday drove to Pistakee Highlands to help George's mother, Mrs. Darmody, and her daughter, Karen, celebrate their birthdays. John Neuharth, accompanied by his daughter and her husband, has been in South Dakota for a week to visit Mr. Neuharth's mother who is 94 years old and has been ill. • ' . Marshall Jacobs is sponsoring three bowling teams this year, one for the men, one for the women and one called the L and M Juniors. He reports that the men's team won three games last week, which is a good start for the season. The Jacobs are planning on spending this weekend with their good friends Mr. and Mrs. Pope in Berwyn. Individuals implying or stating an official relationship With the Social Security Administration have visited the homes of elderly people in the attempts to sell various types of insurance, or offer discount rates on advance payment of the $3 monthly premium for supplementary medical insurance. Some social security claimants and beneficiaries have received questionnaires soliciting information with a promise that they Will be mailed an official booklet issued by the United States government. Mr. Barnett cautions that all social security field emplyees have proper government credentials; consequently. if you still have any doubt, call the Waukegan social security office to confirm whether or not a man was sent to see you. Meeting Next Monday, Sept. 20, the Holiday Hills Property Owners Association will meet at the Ranch House. They also reported on the backstops erected on the property to the north of Sunset Drive for the enjoyment of the young ball players.
