Shp' also explained the orientation program to be held at Downey the week of Oct. U through 17. All the ladies are urged to attend one of these sessions. If interested, call Mrs. Bradley. The annual card party-luncheon is set for Nov. 3 at 12:30. Chairman Gen Bradley informed us that the plans are coming along nicely for this event. We were sorry to hear that Sylvia Hess was hospitalized, We certainly hope she is all well again. The high school bond issue is to be voted on Oct. 30. At our next meeting, Oct. 11, we will have a speaker to give us all the information on this issue. We urge all the ladies to attend this meeting so that all the facts can be heard. The purpose of the youth fund raising project is to raise $500 for the YMCA World Service Program, The sale of thin mint candies will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9, and continue until 5 p.m. Oct. 23. YMCA's in North America have a goal of $2,462,440 for 1965 for World Service. World Service, now in its seventysixth year, assists YMCA's in forty foreign countries or organize, plan and conduct activities for youth and adults, and to become self sufficient. Collins is the first to make the announcement in the new 33rd Senatorial district of Illinois, which includes McHenry. Senator Collins is a veteran of th? political "battlefront" in Springfield, having served for twelve years in the House of Reperesentatives and for twenty-four years in the State Senate.
