(Alfa) Weiss, with whom he had been making his home for the past eight years, Mr. Johanson had been in poor health for several years. Tie was born in Sweden, Aug. 8, 1909, and was a retired butcher. Prior to moving to this area, he resided in Chicago. Survivors are one son, Karl; three other sisters, Margareta Seaborg and Anna KiVbach of Wondor Lake and Britta Noren of Sweden; and one brother, Sture Johanson also of Sweden. The body rested fit the Peter M. Justen & Soif" funeral home until 2 o'clock Saturday, when Past or Thomas„ Li " Johnson of Nativity Lutheran church officiated at last rites. ROTHERMEL A funeral Mass was sung last week Tuesday in Blessed Sacrament church, Springfield, 111., for Joseph P. Rothermel, 69, of Springfield. He was the brother of Mrs. Ben Justen of McHenry. r Mr. Rothermel was an assistant vice-president of the Springfield Marine bank until his retirement in 1961. He was later associated with the Bunno- matic Co. of Springfield and also served two years on the executive- committee of the Illinois Bankers' association. NIEMAN A Mass was sung Wednesday morning in St. Mary's Catholic church, Huntley, for Mrs. Agnes C. Nieman, 76, a former resident of McHenry who died Monday, Oct. 4, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. James (Mary^ Collins, in Huntley. The deceased was born Jan. 19, 1889, in Huntley and resided in McHenry for several years recently until moving to Huntley. Her husband, Albert, preceded her in death. She is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Edmund Winters of Crystal Lake; two sons, Edward and Herbert, both of Woodstock; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. George C. Smith of Woodstock and Mrs. Mae Ruth of Elgin; and a brother, Eugene McFarland, of Woodstock. The body rested at the James A. O'Connor funeral home in Huntley until the time of last rites. Shore drive, McHenry, died at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning in McHenry hospital, where he had been confined for three weeks. Mr. Bernard was a native of Chicago, where he was born Jan. 24, 189£r He had resided in this area for the past eight years. The deceased was a retired machinist for the Stewart Warner company. Prior to visiting Japan, Bon Homme Richard spent thirty days of continuous operations off the coast of Viet Nam where her aircraft conducted daily strikes against Viet Cong emplacements.
