SEHOA At the Sunnyside Estates Homeowners Association, Inc., annual meeting on Oct. 14, Iwo new board members were elected. They are Jim Leahy and Ken Segerstrom. Since no replacement was found for the association's secretary, Shirley Simmons, she has agreed to continue in that capacity until a successor is available. However, since she has been in that office for four years, Shirley is most anxious to relinquish that post. Next?? Since the Lucky Ladies will sponsor the children's Christmas party, this year, it was voted by the assembly to donate $50 toward the expenses for this party which is for all the children of the Estates. As an outgrowth of the teen-ager's dance last month, the hipsters are forming a teen club. A loan of $80 was requested and approved by the assembly for the express purpose of helping the oragnization get started. This loan was made directly to Mrs. Margaret Palmer who signed a note for that amount. More information about this teen club will be given to you as it is made available. Better Shelter Behold the new roof on the bus shelter! Industrious neighbor Jim Williams "handled that job all by himself". No more in-shelter-showers on rainy days. A New Addition . arrived for the Wagner family on Oct. 5th, at McHenry hospital. Latest Edition Wegner made his masculine appearance packing a commendable 7 lbs., 11% oz. in his dark, 19" frame. Mother Helen reports that with his pitch black hair and dark skin Latest Edition Christopher Keith is quite a contrast to Previous Edition Gary. Happily, Chris is a very good baby, which gives Mother a chance to recuperate fully. Congratulations, Helen and Keith. There have been happy moments, sad moments, gratifying, satisfying moments, frustrating, maddening moments, but the fun and funny moments outweighed all the rest. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bauer and children, Betty and Franky, who recently returned from Germany, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Harrer and family. Mrs. Helen Harrer, Mrs. Mollrrer and Mrs. Richard Schuster. The children played games and of course th'e adults were busy preparing the birthday dinner. Turkey was on the menu with all the irimmings. Little Paul and Maria enjoyed the party and gifts as much as Johnny. Grandmothers My heart goes out to some grandmothers who are many miles from the grandchildren they love so dearly. It would be a very pleasant feeling to have them near and stopping by now and then to cheer her up. Fit As a Fiddle Several of my neighbors have asked about my Dad as they knew him when he spent his summer here a couple of years ago. Well, I am glad to report that I called him last night and got some very good news. He says he is as fit as a fiddle and intends to stay that way for a long' time to come. Village Briefs The George^Sehafers on Riverview Drive took advantage of the beautiful weather and drove out to Riverside to see her mother who is 96 years old and after spending a day with her they decided to go to Frankfort to see their son and family. Sorry to get the bad news that Mrs. Delfield was taken to McHenry hospital last Saturday with the flu bug. I must say she isn't lonesome because there are many that has been stricken. My daughter, Pat, has been in bed for four days with the old bug. I"hope by the time you read this both will be fully recovered. - James Kinder'is up and about these days and doing fine. Mrs. Kinder"s mother and father were out from Chicago to console him. Mrs. Rowlands decided to give herself a weekend's rest from ad the ordeals that most mothers have -where there are school children so to Chicago.) The Kerrs had relatives out from Chicago for dinner and also I may mention that John has .a" birthday coming up on the L'lsl. j Our M«mi 111 Service Irma Gunther says that her son, Fred, has been in the Air Force 27 months already and 15 of those months have been si>ent in German v. A '2C Fred is hoping that he will be able to spend his twenty-first birthday here at home next May. Fred is with the special branch of the Air Force so his ^doings are limited. He has been taking advantage of seeing as many countries as he can and his recent trip to gay Paris is something he won't forget. Madrid will be next to see now that he has a car to ride around in. It beats the crowded buses, but as always there is no place like home. Was I Flabbergasted? I just returned from Pat's at Stonegate West, Clarendon Hills, where I had a very nice visit with the family and a neighbor. I considered it an honor 1O meet a mother of ten children. Mrs. John Adams, and by her appearance one would never suspect. She has lour boys who finished college, iwo chose marriage, two en- I tered service, three attending ;St. Procopius Academy with my grandson. Bobby, and there ! are three smaller ones who .are j in grade school. I There is one thing for sure ! it takes a president of a bank to meet the needs of a brood I of that size.
