The meetings are set as follows: Saturday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m.--Unit 3 of Lakeland Shores and Unit 3 of Lakeland Park. Sunday afternoon, Nov. 14, at 3:30 p.m.--Units 1 and 4 of Lakeland Park and Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m.--Units 1 and 2 of Lakeland Shores and Unit 2 of Lakeland Park. The units are divided as follows: Unit No, 1--Beach to Eastern and the Lake to the Creek. Unit No. 2 -- Meadow la»e to Beach and the Creek to Rte. 120. Unit No. 3--Everyone west of Beach. Unit No. 4 --Everyone east of Eastern and north of the creek. Lakeland Shores Units 1 and 2 are north of Rte. 120 and Unit No. 3 is south of Rte. 120. There seems to be many rumors going around the subdivision regarding annexation, and the proper way to see just what this annexation is all about would be to attend your meeting and listen to the committee that ha's been long at work on this matter. You are asked to attempt to attend your designated unit meeting as they have been scheduled so each meeting would be of approximately the same size. If for any reason you can't make your meeting, by all means feel free to attend one of the others. The informal vote on whether or not we proceed with the mechanics of annexation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 20. at the community house from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m. The annexation procedure is a very long one and will take a good deal of hard work by a group of volunteers, so anyone interested in aiding this cause is asked to give their name at the -unit meeting There will have to be pet :t ions circulated and signed and checked before the legal process can be started and even once the petitions are prsented to the City Council, it would be about 90 days before annexation could become a reality. General Meetings Set For Saturday And Sunday The committee feels they have done everything they could in the way of getting information, and now they ask you to come hear their report. Brownies Troop No. 464 The meeting of Nov. 2 was investiture dav for the Brown- Jes who joined this year. They put on a very imnressive program for the mothers who attended. In fact, the mothers also participated in the activities by sincing a round with the girls and forming a tunnel With their daughters at the end of the program. It was a very well organized urogram and a big Brownie salute is in order for Mrs. Quast and Mrs. Schaedel for putting in their time and effort doing what thev can for our girls. The girls will be working on different projects now and right now are in need of any empty paper rolls you might have on hand. They can be dropped off at Mrs. Quast's home or if you know of a Brownie give it direct to her. Cub Park Meeting Next Tuesday This is a reminder that the Cub Pack meeting has been changed from the third Monday of the month to the third Tuesday of the mnoth at 7:30 p.m. Next week, Nov. 16, is that day. Awards which have been earned over the summer will be presented as well as the boys' year pins. Remember parents, this is a meeting for the whole family so come and enjoy the evening with your son. Now is your chance to get rid of all those old magazines which keep piling up in the garage or basement as well as helping out the athletic fund of the Booster club. After that we had a Hobo party and the girls were divided into teams by picking either a witch, ghost, owl, pumpkin or a bat. They went out on a scavenger hunt. No one won. The things we asked for were items we could use in some of our projects which are coming up. . Next we ate supper. We had hot dogs, potato chips, and we were going to have hot chocolate, but when the girls were making it, it burned so we had kool-aide and cookies. Then we all went home. Next Monday at 4 p.m. the mothers are invited to attend the Girl Scouts investiture. The girls are to be there at the regular time. Respectfully submitted, Nancy Matthews, scribe. Birthday Wishes Happy birthday to Raymond Roach who will be 3 on the 11th, and to Robert Minor who will be 13, to Robert Deitz who will be 16 and to Michael Miyaki who will be 8, all on the 11th. The 15th of November has Mary Daurio celebrating and the 16th has Paulette Rizzo and Steve Knor sharing a day with Steve turning 7. Snowball Dance Coming Soon We hope that everyone is getting out their best bib and tucker in preparation for the tenth annual Lakeland Park Woman's club snowball dance which Will be held at the VFW on Dec. 4. Frank and Arlene Bartos and Rich and Anne Wohnrade spent a pleasant evening last week at Etf and-Joan Bourdage's home in Cooney Heights. If you saw a familiar face on the TV screen last week it was probably Jim Daurio. They were shoeing the before and after pictures ofColby subdivision in Crystal Lake which was hit by the Palm Sunday Tornado and Jim is the regular mail carrier for that subdivision and was^in quite a few of the pictures. Bill and Bunny Jaenicke and children went to Naperville on Sunday to celebrate Bunny's brother - in - law's birthday. A delicious corned beef dinner was served. Susan Pankiewicz celebrated her birthday a month early with a pajama party. She won't be 12 until Dec. 23 but that date being so close to Christmas it was decided to celebrate this month. Her party started at 5 p.m. Friday evening with a supper of pizza burgers, potato chips and the works. The evening's entertainment included a scavenger hunt and of course playing records and dancing. The girls think they set a new record for staying up, not giving up until 6:30 a.m. Fran Harper, Kathy Kronkie, Luane Klontz, Vickie Johnson, Pam Schwegel, and of course Susan slept until about noon when they were served brunch and then stil! had enough energy to go roller skating ii^ the afternoon. Wish I was still that energetic. Two year old Gail Lynne Hutt was baptized at the 9:30 service of the Snephard of the Hills church last Sunday by Reverend Johnson. Her sponsors were Linda Dale Schneider trom Round Lake Park and Norman John Horwath from Chicago.
