Night Out Chris had a night out with her cousin from Indianapolis. She missed her at her dad's funeral so to make up for. it the cousin came to a Chicago hotel and Chris joined her for the night. They had a chance to talk about the old times. Birthdays Birthday greetings to our little Marion Pflug which is Nov. 30 Mid also Sandy Newman ^vho celebrated hers on the twenty-second. Please, folks, I would like v€rry much to have some of those birthdates and also anniversary dates--How's 'bout it ? Sick List Clara Harrington was on the sick list all last week and had to stay home from work. She would have liked it better if she had been sick on her paid vacation time. Thanksgiving This is one of the most important times of the year when families get together and have one big celebration and also it is the time of the year when we should thank our God we are here in this little village away from the fighting, starving and grief stricken, war torn country like Viet Nam. Pheasants Betty's brother and family were out for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner last week and he managed to get in a little hunting. His bag was two pheasants which he presented to Betty for the holidays. The. Metger family attended the funeral of Liz's cousin's husband who. passed away very suddenly at the age of 49. He is survived by his wife and four children and also he was the Godfather of little Johnnie. While they were in Chicago a dear neighbor, Betty, kept baby Paul until" they returned home. Three Girls Dianne Hoffman has been pretty busy taking care of her three little sick girls, Bonnie, Cricket and Suzan. At first they had bad colds and then to top it off the painful earaches strike which caused them sleepless nights. Patient Mrs. Delfild was taken ill at her home last Saturday at 3 a.m. and rushed to the Mc- Henry hospital in an ambulance. A report on the finincial outcome will be given at our December meeting. Mrs. Lindwall Visits Sweden Charlie's mother, Mrs. Gustav Lindwall, returned to the Shores last Saturday afternoon after six weeks in Sweden. The weather was beautiful in both crossings of the Atlantic on the Swedish Lines, as were the accommodations, service and food. She visited relatives in Gothenburg part of the time, then three weekends at their summer home at the sea shore on the west coast of Sweden. On to Orebro to see her brother and then to Vermland w^hich is in southern Sweden where two weeks were spent with cousins, friends and neighbors. One of the high spots was a stop at Skone where she paid her respects at her parents' graves in the church yard where she was baptized and confirmed years ago. Mrs. Lindwall's siser who is 86 years old, made the trip with her and they agree that it was all too short. As it has been 50 years since she had been back home the clean cities and beautiful flowers everywhere brought back many happy memories. Welcome home and we know that during our cold snowy winter she will have time to think about all the good times she had this summer. School Bus Problems The public school bus that picks up the smaller children will be coming in 10 to 15 minutes later than originally stated so it may be a good idea to keep the children home a little longer as during the long wait fights and stone throwing ensue. Also, it has been reported that some of the chilthe bus on Hilltop are coming dren who should be boarding down to other stops and causing trouble. We know it is pretty difficult to get a group of youngsters together without some fights but the mothers of the kindergarten bunch are concerned about their safety. Busy Weekend For The Ramages Charles and Loretta Ramage attended a wedding at 4 o'clock and after cocktails drove to St. Charles for the International Lions Club dinner and dance where all had the usual grand time. Half she marked T M for 'Tis Mince, the others T M fear 'Tisn't Mince. It's such fun having Grandma Kve in our house. Her stories of the old days, her understanding humor, and her joy in living spark our lives. She needs no label. That she's a Christian glows in everything she does. No matter what the circumstances, she meets people and situations with love and goodness. Full credit i^ hers, that none of the problems that we feared when she came to live with wf have develop^ Yes, Td say Grariclma has oel al of us. We all go to church now and We're mja^I happier because of it.- We've learned from pfzndma that happiness comes from doing good and loving God. Why don't you go to Cht&dt and take yorar famrly with you? CHURCH ALA. FOR THE CHURCH the Church is the greatest factor OH earth for the building of character and good citizenship. It is a store, bouse of spiritual values. Without a Strong Church, neither democracy nor civilization can survive. Thore are four sound reasons why every person should attend services regularly and support the Church. They are: (1) For his own sake. (2) For bis children's sake. (3) For the sake of his community and nation. (4) For me sake of the Church itself, which needs his moral and material support. Plan to go to church regu> keefy and read your Bible daily.
