Erickson of' Pomona, Calif., former local residents who have been visiting relatives in Pecatonica, called on old friends here last week. They were accompanied by their daughter, Cynthia, and husband, Major John Price, and four of their seven children, who had just returned from several years in France and were enroute to his new assignment at Fort Leavenworth, Kans. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Bauer have returned from a trip to Tulsa, Okla., where they spent a week in the home of their son, Gerald, and family. Mrs. Freida Bienapfl of Skokie spent a few days last week in the Fred Bienapfl home. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schoewer who have been residing in the ""Country Club Estates the past few years, moved back to their home in Waukegan, . Dec. 1. Mrs. Ben Justen has returned home from Chuluota, F1 a., where she accompanied Mrs. Joseph Muska by car a few weeks ago. While there Mrs. Justen and Mrs. Muska spent a few days at Thanksgiving with Mrs. Marie Bott in Clearwater. Mrs. Lee Gratkowski (Ella Jean Buss) and children, Carl and Diane, of Jessup, Maryland, spent a few days last week with McHenry relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Page and daughters of Richmond, Ind., spent a few days recently with McHenry relatives before leaving for their new home in Dallas, Tex. , Mrs. Elizabeth Michels wafe a weekend guest of Waukegan relatives where on Saturday she attended a family gathering honoring her great granddaughter, Kathleen-Heirslee, a First Communicant at Immaculate Conception church on that day. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Damen were weekend guests of Chicago relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Walt Johnson of Minneapolis, Minn.,, were entertained in the homes of Mrs. Lawrence Huck, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Huck, Jr., a few days recently. Miss Nancy Whiting, R. N., daughter of the Sibre Whitings, accompanied by Miss Marcia Mahon, R. N., of Rockford, has returned from a enjoyable three months trip through Europe. They went by boat and returned by plane. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Weber have returned from an enjoyable two weeks vacation in which they were accompanied by their daughter, Mrs. William Neumann, husband and children. Their first stop was in Washington, D. C., where they visited the former's nephew, Clare Whiting, and spent a day sightseeing. From there they motored on to Charleston, S.C., where Mr. and Mrs. Weber remained to spend the time with their daughter, Mrs. Thomas Murphy while the Neumanns, alter a brief visit, went on to Florida where they visited many places of interest. They stopped at the Murphys to pick up her parents and stay overnight before returning to McHenry arriving here Friday evening. Mrs. Mabel Powers was a Sunday dinner guest in the home of her grandson, Roger Powers, in Woodstocki the occasion being the christening day of her-great grandson, Dennis Powers. The baby's sponsors were his aunt and uncle, Dianne and Dan Powers, twins. Mr. and Mrs. Gere Thennes have moved from Millstream Drive to a new home at Cooney Heights. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Olsen and Mrs. and Mrs. Rbert Low and son, Bobby, were among a large group l'rom Woodstock, Beloit and Harvard who attended open house at the new home of Mr. and Mrs. Thurlow York in Sharon, Wis., Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Smith were in Naperville Saturday evening where they saw North Central college win its firs* basketball game of the season over Augustana college, Rock Island, their son, Rich, being a member of the team. Mr. and Mrs: H. B. Schaefer returned last week from a three weeks visit in the home of their son, Earl, and family in Hay ward, Calif., where they made the trip by train. Frank (Bud) Gende and companions from Great Lakes were Sunday guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gende. Mesdames Eva Sparks, Georgia Steuben, Betti Rode, Mariclare Adams and Helene Pepping surprised Mrs. Leroy Smith last Saturday bringing her gifts for her new home. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mueller were in Chicago, Monday, to attend the funeral of his sister. Ulrich and Helen Modine of St. Charles, Janet Welter, Georgia FitzGerald and Bill Thomas were dinner guests on Sunday in the Ulrich home in honor of Gretchen's birthday. The affair continued the yearly tradition of honoring company employees who have observed twenty-five, thirty and thirtyfive or more years of service. FILE SU|T ' A Suit in the amount of $200,000 has been filed in Circuit court on behalf of Elmer Meierdirk of rural Antioch against Richard J. Smith, Jr., of McHenry. The suit arises from an auto crash in 1963 on Rt. 173 when a car in which Meierdirk was a passenger collided with another driven by Smith. Mr. Walkington, who observed his eighiy-third birthday anniversary Dec. 8, became interested inTthe hobby following a heart attack, when his activities,, were confined. The fact that he chose painting was probably due to the fact that his grandson, Jay Walkington, had done considerable art work during his high school days. The octogenarian has infinite patience as he works with magnifying glass to perfect his works, which are done with the assistance of the art numbering system. He has given many of the paintings to members of his family and friends. The following girls were elected: Connie Sallman, honored queen; Joanne Weichmann, senior princess; Kris Founder, junior princess; Lorilee Klontz, guide; and Karen Larson, marshal. These five girls and all other officers will be installed on Saturday, Dec. 11. Saturday evening was the Job's Daughters formal dance, "Tri Capers." It was held at the Elmhurst Country club and six of our.Jobies attended with their escorts: Connie Sallman, Ruth Lightner;, Libby Stinespring, Kris Fournier, Vicki Lagios and Diane Loggins. Following the dance the group returned to the Stinespring home, where a delicious buffet supper was served. It was indeed a lovely evening the girls shall long remember. Dec. 9 will be our next meeting. This will be Ruthie Lightner's last meeting to reign as queen, at which time she will give her queen's report and a "Well Done Party" will follow.
