Thursday, December 9,1965 Valiant Viscounts THE McHENRY PLAINDEALER Sectios Two -- Pag* Hum Mary Pat Mrachek, 17, has been aX^pember of the Viscounts for eight years, carrying a rifle. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Mrachek. A senior at McHenry high school, she plans to join the Women's Air Force upon graduation. Mary Pat is president of the American Legion auxiliary juniors and has won first place in the Department of Illinois ALA doll dressing contest and scrap , book contest. Bernadine Reid, 19, is a veteran of nine years of activity with the Viscounts, carrying a rifle. Bernadine is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Reid and a 1964 graduate of McHenry high school. Interest in the Viscounts is of long standing in the Reid household. Father is manager of the corps and mother is a Vi-Kette director. Brother "Bud" is an instructor and three sisters of Bernadine are also members. She is one of the five girls who started with the all-girl guard and are still members of the corps. Eileen Homo, 18, has been carrying a rifle with the Viscounts for the past seven years. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Homo. A 1964 graduate of M.C.H.S., she is now employed in this area and carries on some of the hobbies which she has enjoyed since high school days. A brother, Ken, is an alumnus of the Viscounts and two sisters, Judy and Janet, are now members of the corps. Carol Zimny, IS, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Zimny and has been with the Viscounts for eight years. She, too is an M.C.H.S. graduate. Carol has won first place in the duo rifle drill contest and the instructor's award in 1963. Her father, once in the world famous Knights of Light drum corps, is now color guard and bugle instructor.
