Eveyone was decked out in their party dresses ajnd added a lot of color to an already beautifully decorated hall. Jo Rizzo and her committee, Arlene Bartos, Delores Belohlavy, Vicky Bottari, Pearl Koester, Lyda Ftadisch, Ruth Roach, Delores Rogers and Margo Schaedel have been working ever since Thanksgiving, making table favors and special prizes and as usual came up with some real clever ideas. After a delicious dinner, which was served buffet style, Lyda Radisch introduced some of our past presidents and gave a slight history of the dub and its very first Christmas party which was planned, cooked, served and then eaten by its membersi Jean Gagnon was president at the time. A beautiful corsage was presented to her and to Helen Strandquist, and Audrey Ellmer who were also past presidents. It was certainly nice seeing our charter members and honoring them in a small way. After the program, Mr. and Mrs. Santa dropped in to say hello and to pass out the grabbag gifts the ladies had brought. AH in all it was a very enjoyable evening, ending \yith the traditional carol singing. lfockcy News Because of the warm and rainy weather, our game was called off. We are hoping to get some cold weather to get the lake frozen, so that we could get at least one good practice in and to get on the way with our games. From looking at some of the teams in the league, it looks like we'll have a hard time again- this year. Last year we came in first with eight win's and two losses. This year we want to be undefeated. As-soon as the lake gets frozen again, we can have our first game. Girl Scout Troop 320 Our meeting opened with the pledge and our promise. Then our patrol leaders took dues. After that Mrs. George taught us how to make candy cups out of empty paper rolls and Christmas cards. We made lots of eandy cups. Place mats were made out of cards and black paper by each girl. On the 23rd of December the Girl Scouts will go Christmas caroling and will then go back to the community house for; their Christmas party. The girls will meet at Mrs. George's at 7 p.m. and will walk to the community house, caroling along the way. Brownies Troop 464 The Brownies will go caroling at their regular meeting time on Dec. 21 and will then stop at Shirley Meurer's for hot chocolate afterward. It will not be necessary to wear their uniforms, but they should dress very warm. There will be no meetings Dec. 28 or Jan. 4. Cub Scouts The Cub Scouts will have their Chrsitmas party this coming Tuesday evening at the Community house at 7:30 p.m. at their regular pack meeting. The boys are to bring their 50 cent grab bag gift and I heard a rumor that Santa was going to try and make it. The family is welcome to join the boys but should not participate in the gift exchange. Refreshments will be served as usual. Birthday Wishes Birthday wishes go to Gary Bockman who will be sixteen and Kim Butler who will be six, both on Dec. 16. The seventeenth of December has Veronica Bierman celebrating her tenth, Mike Funk his seventh, Lee Hahn his eleventh and Grandma Eckhart just celebrating. Jodj^ Osmon and Ron celebrating her fourteenth. On Braun share Dec. 18 with Jody Dec. 19, Myrtle Sullivan will celebrate and on Dec. 20, my son, John Meurer, will be seven and on the twenty-second Billy Oakford will be seven and Thomas Linnane will be ten. The twenty-third will have Nedra Eckhart adding another year and Susan Pankiewicz turning twelve. May you all have many more years of happiness ahead of you. She was the hostess for a pizza lunch on Dec. 8 for several of her friends Cjnd their moms. Helping to rhake the foodstuffs disappear in record time were Janie Mc- Gue and her mom, Breftda, Kenny Bottari and Vickey and (iarol Mikosz and her mom, Harriet. The highlight of the feast was a large pink cocoanut cake which M r s. Sigmund brought for her favorite little neighbor. On Sunday lots of aunts and uncles cdme to the Oakford home to celebrate Meg's birthday and her brother Billy's birthday, which comes Christmas week, Dec. 22. Meg's godmother,, Pat McCullough, Marilyn McCullough, Eileen and Pete Paulsen and Cindy, Duke and Connie Gfondy and Mark and David helped to make the day a happy one. Helen Strandquist entertained old friends over the weekend. Harold and Helen Rose of Elmwood Park came for a relaxing time and lots of Helen's good cooking. Then it's ,home again ahd back to the old grind. -The Humann family drove through the fog on Saturday night to pay homage to their smallest niece, Peggy Humann, on her first birthday. The young lady came down with the flu during her party and spent the rest of the evening in bed. A good time was had by all in sfrite of it. Bill and Lillian Glosson took a trip to Whitewater on Sunday to visit son, Dean, who is a freshman at the college. It was open house and a good excuse for the proud parents. The agree-* ment, of course, was the result of much compromising among members, who are to be congratulated for their time and efforts. The "bedsheet" ballot of 1964, resulting from an atlarge election which is avoided through the remap, cost counties a considerable expenditure to provide for conducting the election and tallying the votes. The 1965 General Assembly appropriated approximately $2.3 million to reimburse the counties for this expense, but the final reimbursement figure for the counties was much less--approximately $1,715 million. Those most closely watching the tax dollars spent, agree that much credit goes to the General Assembly, the Election Laws commission and the state Auditor's office for working out the reasonable reimbursement figure for the counties. As there were valid claims and allowable,, under the General Assembly's appropriation, the three groups obtained an Attorney General's opinion for guidance and then drew up ryles for the allowance of claims.
