MAKE ARREST IN HIT-RUN DEATH OF ROGER HALMA Walter Whitely, 30, of Rt. 2, Cary, was apprehended by sheriff's police early this week in connection with the hit and run accident which took the life of 8- year-old Roger Halma of Crystal Lake last Friday afternoon. Whitley has been charged With failure to report an accident and render aid. He will appear in Branch I court on Dec. 23 at 1:30 o'clock. Roger had left the school bus about 4:10 Friday afternoon and was last seen walking on East Crystal Lake avenue, along the grass shoulder on the side of the road. Later, Judy Scott of Fox River Grove noticed the boy lying on the side of the road and stopped to investigate.
