Hanford of portland Cement association was in Chicago last week participating in the 1965 winter meeting of the'American Society of Agricultural Engineers in the Sherman House. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Hanford, McHenry. The American Society of Agricultural Engineers, founded in 1907, .is dedicated to the improvement of a g r i c u 1 ture through the application of engineering fundamentals. DECLARES DIVIDEND The board of directors of Northern Illinois Gas Company has declared a dividend of 33 cents a share on the common stock. an Feb. 1, 1966, to stockholders of record on Dec. 23. This dividend continues the $1.3 annual rate established with the May 1, 1965, payment. MAKE ARREST IN HIT-RUN DEATH OF ROGER HALMA Walter Whitely, 30, of Rt. 2, Cary, was apprehended by sheriff's police early this week in connection with the hit and run accident which took the life of 8- year-old Roger Halma of Crystal Lake last Friday afternoon. Whitley has been charged With failure to report an accident and render aid. He will appear in Branch I court on Dec. 23 at 1:30 o'clock. Roger had left the school bus about 4:10 Friday afternoon and was last seen walking on East Crystal Lake avenue, along the grass shoulder on the side of the road. Later, Judy Scott of Fox River Grove noticed the boy lying on the side of the road and stopped to investigate. Judd street that day. A Woodstock resident, Louis Bellongor, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the same incident. The police report that Miss Macaluso Hvas driving a car that belonged to Bellongor. Miss Patty Bellongor, 14, had requested and received permission from her father for use of the car.^a fact the father had denied. The girls and two friends were riding when they struck a parked car.
